Name brand at less than store brand price

I've been buying this (Purina Kit & Kaboodle Original Adult Dry Cat food) at Sam's Club for a couple of years and my cats liked it.  This last bag must have been a bad batch or it was very stale, we had to mix it with other brands and most still didn't eat it.  We ended up throwing out most of it.

Bad Batch?

When you feed all the cats in the neighborhood because their owners are irresponsible idiots, you need to have a lot of food on hand. This should last a couple of weeks hopefully
