Because of the new 5cent plastic bag carryout charge in NY...I bought them...as they were advertised as being grocery store strength and quality... Far from it I can assure you...These are very-very thin, handles easily break under the slightest 'load'... 
Definitely over-hyped and under-delivered...

Pay the 5cents...!!!

I’ve been purchasing these bags for so many years. I hate using plastic bags from the grocery store because groceries can sometimes be dirty so when I need a clean bag, I know I can always reach for one of these.
