Customer reviews for SAMSUNG 85" Class AU800D-Series Crystal Ultra HD 4K Smart TV - UN85AU800DFXZA forGreat for what I am looking for
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have a small room, so this TV firs nicely in it. The picture quality is great. My only real complaint is that sometimes, in order to use apps, especially YouTube, I have to do a hard restart. But it doesn't happen that often.
Nuggetman, Thank you for sharing your experience with the YouTube app. If your apps are freezing, not loading, or crashing, you can try cold booting your TV by holding down the power button on your remote for 5+ sec until the TV turns off and on again, deleting and downloading the apps again, and completing full reset of Smart Hub to correct the issue. Please also make sure your TV is running the latest firmware version. Go to: Settings > Support > Software Update If you need more help, Samsung is here for you. Please call us at 1-800-SAMSUNG, 8AM - 12AM EST, 7 days a week. Our LiveChat agents are also available by clicking on the ‘Support’ link on our website. ~ Samsung Specialist
Samsung Televisions
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The picture of this samsung TV is great. The sound of the TV is also pretty awesomeIt is really only one particular thing that I do not like about this Samsung television or should I say the 3 Samsung televisions that I do have are that when you turn them on it takes off a few minutes in order for you to use Netflix hulu or any other particular applications. But overall it is an awesome television andI will purchase it 10 times over.

This tv is the 4k you deserve
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This was my first experience with 4k and to say I was amazed is an understatement. I knew present day tv shows and movies would look spectacular. But I didn't expect some of my favorite shows that were born in the vhs era to look the way they did. Absolutely stunning clarity. Not to mention the seamless jump into game mode when I start gaming. No input lag plus the Samsung remote is able to navigate my console without any setup required. Watching a 1080 tv after seeing 4k on this tv is (without exaggeration) like going from color tv to black and white. This is a purchase I knew I wouldn't regret from day 1.
AU8000 has great picture!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bought this tv to replace 10+ year old 40" Samsung in the bedroom. Super easy to setup, easily attached to old wall mount and quickly synced with cable remote. The picture is super clear and bright. Only thing not 5 star is sound but almost expected on tvs today.
Great TV (But few things can improve)
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a great 4K 55 inch TV for the living room. Would love to see apps like Stadia available with the TV. The TVs Tizen OS can be slightly improved by reducing any slow downs and overall experience. Would also love to see support for more webcams for easier video calling. Apart from these things small things, the TV is excellent.
A breeze to set up and use
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The tv arrives ready to be mounted or to be placed on the legs it comes with for the easiest assembly possible. The process to setup is offered in a few different ways depending on if you wanted to use the remote or your phone. The clarity and quality of the image is quite amazing. There are other options to view your movie or show including “Filmmaker mode” which is phenomenal! For those that don't know, this mode offers the viewing experience AS IT WAS INTENDED, but there are other options, as well. Overall, very pleased with the television.
Great Picture
love the picture of this tv. upgraded bedroom tv to a bigger sizesince moving to a bigger house. havent went thorough the apps on the tv yet, to busy watching hgtv for renavation jobs for the house. but its a tv, but only 4 stars because the sound isnt so great, but looking for a good soundbar to connect to it.
Dad Always Buys Samsung
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My father always bought Samsung TVs and said we would not be disappointed with a Samsung. He was right. Our TVs have clear vibrant pictures. The Samsung TV Plus channels along with our streaming services give us a large variety to choose from and we do not miss cable. Take dad's advice when you are in the market for a new TV and consider a Samsung.
has great features, tremendous pictures
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Use mostly for sports and movies. Also enjoy u-tube features including music videos that are very relaxing and easy listening features as well. Enjoying sharing photos with friends on the tv as well! We like most every aspect of the tv.
Was a good TV...until it wasn't...
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My children had given this TV to me for Christmas in December 2020. It sat in a box, unused, until May or 2021. We were in the process of moving and I couldn't use it in our temporary residence. When we got to our final destination, I unpacked the TV and enjoyed it for about a year. The picture was great, the features were great until recently. Things started to happen. When it powered up, lines started appearing in the middle of the screen, flickering on and off. When the TV finally came on, there remained fine lines in the upper third of the TV. Then just this week, the TV would not come on at all. Just a dark, flickering screen that never booted up. Sorry, Samsung, but that's the ugly truth.
Hi AngryBruin, We are sorry to hear about your experience with the Samsung AU8000 TV having lines and now no longer coming on. Samsung prides itself on high-quality products and a great customer experience. Please know we are here to help you. Please try these troubleshooting steps to see if they will solve your issue. If your TV has a black screen even when it's on, it's entirely possible it could actually be your external device and not your TV. Please try these troubleshooting steps for your blank screen issue: 1. Press the Home button on the remote. If the menu appears, the TV is powered on but is either not on the correct source or not receiving a signal. If the menu does not appear, the TV may be having power issues. Check the red standby light, a little red light at the edge of the TV that you aim the remote at. In normal use, the red standby light is on when the TV is off (indicating the TV is on standby), and the red standby light is off when the TV is in use (or doesn't have power). 2. Confirm the TV is set to the same source as the external device. For instance, if your cable box is connected to HDMI 1, set the TV source to HDMI 1. If the TV is set to the correct source but there is still no image, unplug and reconnect the AV connections one cable at a time from both ends of each cable. If there's any damage to the cable, it will need to be replaced. After reconnecting the external device, could you turn it off and back on? 3. Test the HDMI cable. Some TVs have an HDMI cable test. Some models only have this test after a software update, and older models do not have it. If your model does not have this test or is not connected by HDMI, skip to the next step. The test is designed for HDMI cords less than 6 feet long and may not give accurate results on longer cords. To perform the test, make sure the TV's source is still on the HDMI setting for the cable you want to test, and then navigate to Settings > Support > Self Diagnosis > Signal Information > HDMI Cable Test > Start Test. If the test says, the cable is bad, replace the cable. Service is not required. 4. Test different external devices. The final thing to rule out is the external device you're using. Try connecting to a different device or using a different source port. If you could not test the cable in the previous step, try swapping the cable, too. If the TV can display a picture in any other setup, then you've ruled the TV out as the cause of the issue. Keep trying various setups until you identify the device or cable that is not working and troubleshoot or replace it. If the issue persists after these steps, then the TV will need service.
