Flickering & pixels

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I watch a great deal & now, after 3 years, the picture is flickering, has pixel problems & colored lines / fading which lasts from 30 minutes to 1/2 a day after turning it on.

Hi Wilderness, Thank you for purchasing the Samsung AU8000 TV and for sharing your experience with your TV not displaying correctly. Please try the following troubleshooting steps: 1. Run a Picture Test on the TV. Navigate to Settings, select Device Care, and then select Self Diagnosis. Select Picture Test, select OK and then view the test. You can select Yes if the picture looks normal, No if there is a problem with the image, or Show again to see the picture a second time. 2. Determine if image issues are appearing during the Picture Test. Look for distortion or issues on the screen during the Picture Test. If there are no issues, this means your TV is working fine. To identify and fix the problem, try replacing the external device's cable that is showing image issues. - If issues still appear after replacing the cable, troubleshoot the external device. - If issues appear during the Picture Test, proceed to the next step. 3. Request service if issues appear during the Picture Test. Please visit our Support Center to request service if you see image issues during the Picture Test. When calling, ensure you have the TV's model code, software version, and serial number. Sometimes, distortion or image issues (especially if they are black) can be caused by a cracked screen. If this is the case, it would still need service if you want to fix it. However, since the warranty does not cover physical damage, buying a new TV may be more economical rather than paying for repairs and a new screen. If you need more help, Samsung is here for you. Great features, affordable and super upgrade.

Purchased this TV as a replacement for an older Sony TV which began to show its age, particularly volume issues. Also, there was sufficient space above the fire place to accommodate a 50" TV with the necessary outlets - electricity and HDMI.
