Smart cast has issues

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this a month ago. Worked fine on setup. Two weeks later smartcast wont load. Factory reset seemed to fix it but as of last night it did it again. Turned unit off then on and works now. Something's wrong. Preformed speed test to Check connection, that's not the issue.

Good TV for a reasonable price

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I wanted a full HD 24" TV for my home office, which can also be used as a secondary computer monitor, and this TV does that for me. I can stream content such as Amazon Prime and Plex to watch movies and TV with okay sound and a good picture. The blacks and clarity are much better than my old TV, making for a better experience. The TV OS/firmware was updated this past week which improved the responsiveness and usability of the interface.

Every update made this TV worse

This is the most disappointing experience I've ever had with electronics. It's my first smart TV, and I wish I just kept using Roku. I thought it was great at first, but every software update made it less user-friendly and less likely to work. I literally just spent 15 minutes just trying to play ANYTHING on TV at all for background noise, and gave up with no time left to actually watch a show, now. DO NOT BUY THIS TV IF YOU PLAN TO USE AN ANTENNA! I don't know why they'd even say it's compatible when it's not. It wants Wi-Fi even when watching antenna TV. It's ludicrous. I've had it a year and regretted it every single day for 11 months. I will never ever get a Vizio product again as long as I live.

Excellent TV Value

This 40" D Series TV produces a very nice picture. The backlight is not as strong as I like though. I have found 70/100 works well and should allow the leds to last longer. This 40" D Series also has thin bezels and grants the user a nice clean look when hanging on the wall. We have a 28" Vizio sound bar hooked up via optical so I can't comment on the TVs internal sound, but the sound bar is controlled perfectly with the remote once you turn off the internal speakers. It is actually our 4th Vizio. We have a 60" E Series from 2011 and two P Series models from 2018. They all continue to provide a beautiful picture and value. This 40" D Series TV replaces a 43" TXX 4 Series model that only lasted 3.5 years. After trying out another brand like the TXX I can honestly say that in my experience Vizio TVs last and continue to be the best value in television production. Lastly, it would be helpful to point out that we ROXX streaming sticks on all of our TVs (we have 9 TVs in our home) as they are quick and responsive and easy to use. Prior to installing a stick in our new 40" D Series TV I found the updated IQ processor to be quick and responsive as well. Much more so than our 2018 P Series TVs. Had I not had the ROXX stick, I believe we would be happy interacting with the current Smartcast application on this 40" D Series.

Excellent small tv.

Purchased D series to fit into small space and no additional cable boxes.. Has built in Smartcast so no need for Chromecast. Has headphones port. No digital optical cable availability. Also cannot add apps (per cus svc) like Spectrum, etc. Number of free tv channels. Gave 4 stars because fits my needs perfectly for numerous sporting events at same time.

Easy Setup & Connection

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] After researching various models and because I had used Vizio products previously, I selected the D series because of the price and size. It was exactly what I was looking for.to fit the space I had.

Excellent clarity and color at a reasonable price.

I bought a Vizio smart TV when they first were introduced and having purchased more than one over the last several years I have come to the decision I will stay with Vizio as my first choice after having purchased a few already and finding them more reliable than some name brands at higher costs but often questionable in their quality.

Great product for the price

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this for the price. However, I was pleasantly surprised how good the picture was once I turned it on. The only reason I didn't give it a 5 star review is that of the many apps available, I could not get the 1 app I really needed. Dish Anywhere app. If you need this app your out of luck.

Was good for a while

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] the menu print is too small. zoom is too big. was fine until my internet went down and it will no longer connect to my network. i've done all the troubleshooting to no avail. The small screen is good for a bedroom or craft room.

I have purchased Vizio products in the past

I've been satisfied with past purchases until now. Vizio had been dependable and long lasting. I recently bought a 43'' TV. The TV totally failed within 3 to 4 days. Returning the TV was a horrible experience. I had attempted 3 times before the return was successful. I assumed that the replacement would be great, as I assumed that the issues with the TV were a one time problem, it was not. I was told by an associate for the place I bought my TV that products of several types were and had been sitting in tractor trailers in the hot sun and that could possibly be the reasons for all the problems I had experienced.
