Great TV with great features

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This TV has everything I need, it really is smart;-) It has a great pic and sound. Tons of apps to watch streaming content. Plenty of input and output connections for all your accessories. It's also very easy to setup with walk-thru menus. I bought this for my teenage daughter and it is the perfect size for her bedroom. Kids are so lucky these days, sure beats the 13" black and white I had when I was a kid.

Qualified recommendation

I bought the Vizio 40” three weeks ago as it was the best fit into our tv room hutch. The picture and sound are great and not having to use a Fire stick seems to have eliminated prior buffering issues. The one caution I would have is buyers should know the 40” does NOT have an ethernet port, something I was hoping to use since eliminating cable tv service. I have yet to have the Vizio recognize my ‘over the air' antenna through the coax port, nor have I gotten it to recognize my ethernet via an ethernet-to-coaxial box (but this may be due to my having not yet selected the right combination of menu setting). Also note, the box comes with a short printed “basic quick set up”, but more detailed set-up instructions (for other auxiliary equipment) must be downloaded. This is a bit inconvenient and the instructions don't go into as much detail as I'd have liked; as in how to connect over-the-air or ethernet (“connect to appropriate port and select via menu options”….yea, I could have guessed that!). Overall, the output is great, once you get it hooked up correctly.

What a find!

Every update made this TV worse

This is the most disappointing experience I've ever had with electronics. It's my first smart TV, and I wish I just kept using Roku. I thought it was great at first, but every software update made it less user-friendly and less likely to work. I literally just spent 15 minutes just trying to play ANYTHING on TV at all for background noise, and gave up with no time left to actually watch a show, now. DO NOT BUY THIS TV IF YOU PLAN TO USE AN ANTENNA! I don't know why they'd even say it's compatible when it's not. It wants Wi-Fi even when watching antenna TV. It's ludicrous. I've had it a year and regretted it every single day for 11 months. I will never ever get a Vizio product again as long as I live.

Quality Great / App Options Limited

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] When we purchased the TV, I didn't realize what not being a Roku TV meant. With today's smart TV's I was under the impression that there was a choice of apps to be loaded. This box comes with a bunch of apps, but not the ones I regularly use. Therefore I have to cast from my phone, which can be a pain at times. The plus includes the quality of picture. Very nice with settings to adjust for optimal viewing. The minuses are app choices and not able to load what you need. The remote is laid out with a bunch of extra direct app buttons that will never get used. This makes the remote large and unwieldy when using the numbers. I question the processor at times, as there is a significant lag between button pushing on the remote and action on the screen. Overall, a good and dependable product. But for someone used to a Roku TV, is very different. If I hadn't went to the trouble of hanging with it with a movable hanger, I would have returned it for a Roku enabled unit.

Amazing affordable Smart TV!!

Decent tv. Horrible internet capability

This tv does have a great picture. However it does not stay connected to the internet and it cannot find my in home personal 5g network. When it does allow me to sign into my 2g internet, it only works for a minute or so. I've attempted to troubleshoot this with every option Vizio has and it still does not work. This is the first Vizio I have purchased and will probably be the last.

Great picture/frequent rebootingAnd sometimes the

This is my second Vizio. The picture is crisp and bright but I have to reboot the TV often to use the built-in Chromecast And sometimes the TV cannot find the network which also requires rebooting. This also happens on my other Vizio but I don't know why. I've updated it several times. Other than that, I have no complaints.

Greeting the hang of it

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My first Visio was in the box for over a year before my son and his friend set it up for me. My son did this one on his own. I could hear him oooh and aahhing in the bedroom. He finally shouted “you gotta come here”, I went and he started raving about the features, on and on. I just wanted a flat screen for my bedroom, I had no idea…..I'll be leaving town and he said he'll be watching certain things on “that” tv!

Great Purchase

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Very user friendly out the box. Up and running with everything working in about 15 minutes. Super please w/ the product. Only knock is that you'll need a drill to put the feet on or you'll be Turing the screwdriver for awhile.
