Satisfaction and Safety

Just replaced our Fellowes shredder with another new Fellowes shredder after using every day in my office for over 9 years. The other MAIN reason we buy Fellowes shredders is the fact it has the safety if anyone (small children or out pets or others with long hair, etc.) stops in and should accidentally go near this shredder it immediately stops. This should be a law that all shredders have this. I saw a video years ago when a dog got his tongue caught in a shredder and I never got over that site. Thank god not our dogs but regardless the thought that it can happen is more than enough reason to purchase only a shredder that has this safety feature. The replacement unit seems slightly upgraded with a timer that shuts the unit off if not in use a while and starts right back up if you insert a paper to shred (leaving that safety factor still in tack). The shredder is definitely a winner for all the above reasons

Great shredder for home or office use

I actually enjoy using this machine! Your sensitive documents are securely destroyed with this quality shredder. The confetti it produces will make it almost impossible for spies and identity thieves to reconstruct your confidential information. Its 12-sheet cutting capacity lets you easily shred brochures and pamphlets. The safety sensor stops the cutters when your fingers get too close to the slot.

Worth the Money

At first I was reluctant to spend this much for a shredder. I don't really shred that much... until now! I replaced a shredder that seemed to struggle with just a few sheets; and it was loud. You don't realize how loud until you experience the Fellowes. Very Quiet. Handles several sheets easily. CD's and credit cards are no problem. Now I don't throw out anything with my name and address on it without shredding it first and I feel much more secure about my ID.

ms

had other machines that jammed or overheated quickly. After taking the machine out of the box the instructions to assemble were straight forward and easy to follow. What a relief. Then I put the unit to work. The quiteness, capability of shredding and the non jamming may me a believer in this product and that I had purchased the right machine.Although I had the opportunity to purchase a less expensive machine, I hit the lottery on this purchase and recommend it to anyone looking to buy for the first time or replace.

AWESOME Shredder

I replaced my archaic shredder with the Fellowes PS-79Ci and I can absolutely say this is the best shredder I've ever used, be it at home or work. There was, of course, a large industrial shredder at my place of employment and, believe me, it could never compare to the Fellowes I purchased. It's so dependable, quiet, safe and the construction is superb!! I would recommend this to anyone who may be looking for a personal shredder or even for a small business. You will never be sorry you purchased this absolutely AWESOME shredder!!!

Great ... but

Really love this shredder. I like the quietness. I really like the safety shut off feature. I would have appreciated clearer instructions on putting on the casters. They didn't just pop in. I took a rubber mallet and tapped them until they went all the way in. One more thing is the plastic piece on the inside of the container. I believe this is the piece that inserts into a slot that tells the shredder the bin is closed and it's ok to work. This is the piece that broke on the last shredder I had, which wouldn't work after that plastic piece broke. I really expected the Fellowes to have a metal piece here that won't break off. Only time will tell.

PS-79Ci Delivers

I brought this shredder home, unpacked it, plugged it in, and started shredding without any problems. A few months later, and it is still going strong. I was undecided on whether to buy such a powerful unit, but when I needed it, the unit came through for me. I lost my Mom recently, and when we cleared out her place we were left with years worth of documents. The documents were out-dated, but still sensitive in nature. So, I put the PS-79Ci shredder to very good use. I blasted through piles of documents in no time at all. The jam-proof feature is foolproof, because it is based on the overall thickness of the paper(s) being fed in. If it exceeds a certain overall thickness, it just won't shred it. Pretty simple. If it doesn't like what it is fed, it stops, backs up and then continues shredding when it can. It also prevents little fingers from being hurt, by shutting off when it senses any fingers near the opening. Pretty slick. Since I recycle paper, I shred just about everything that comes across my desk, regardless of the sensitivity rating. It makes trash day much easier. Instead of putting it into my waste basket, I just pop it into the shredder. I pour the shredded paper into a brown shopping bag, squash it down, tape it up, mark it "SHREDDED PAPER" and toss it into the recycled paper bin. It takes up so much less space! The only thing that I'd like to see, is a better way to empty is, without getting paper dust all over the carpet. It would be nice if the shredder had paper bags available, so that it could be caught as it was shredded, folder over, taped and recycled!

Amazing Shredder

This shredder is great. It's durable, quiet, doesn't jam at all, shreds all kinds of paper, and almost never overheats (unless it's being used for excessive periods of time). I would recommend this shredder to anyone looking for a good investment. It's a little expensive, but definitely worth the money!

Just opened the box

I just opened the box and registered this shredder. All I can say is that it is quieter than my last shredder. The wheels were hard to get on. If Fellows wants an honest review, they should contact me after about a month of use to see my feelings on the performance. So far my biggest complaint is that it is hard to empty the container without making a mess. The liner bags that came with the product is not a good fit.

Impressive

I just love this shredder, the ease of use and the performance are just wonderful! My last shredder jammed almost everytime I used it,was very loud and cumbersome. The PS-79Ci is quiet and I have not experienced any jamming to date. I would recomment this shredder to anyone in the market for one. You can see the quality as son as the box is opened.
