This mattress is truly an extra firm when it comes to the springs. Even laying on top as a big person you won't feel any lack of spring support. The isolation between sides is great as one person can be turning and the other would hardly be able to tell. The top layer is the opposite story. It is very soft, but not in a comfortable way. You sink into it in such a way that it gives all sorts of strange pressure causing pain. I think its either the gel foam lumber support or duracool they advertise as a feature causing it, but the experience is neither cooling or supportive. If they got rid of the top layers it would be the perfect base mattress that you could add whatever topper you wanted to, but unfortunately the top layer ruins it.

It has a firm but super soft top and I haven't woken up in the middle of the night since we got this mattress. If you have aches and pains, this is the bed for you.

Love it so far. We’ve been searching for the perfect bed for years. We’ve been sleeping on this for almost a week and so far it is the best nights of consistent sleep and comfort that we’ve had in almost 10 years. I’ve had back problems and this seems to remedy the issues. Hopefully I can continue to say this 6 mos and a year from now. I would definitely recommend this mattress.

Like another reviewer stated the memory foam remembers to well and leaves a recess in the mattress were I sleep. I find myself having to rotate the mattress every month or so and sometimes place folded blankets under the mattress to offset the recess. I am 6’ 250lbs which is not ridiculous size to cause such a continuous recess in this mattress. I have only had the mattress 4 years.

You can see the intricate quilting and different comfort layers. My husband gets hot easily, but he noticed he doesn't overheat with this mattress. There is also the right amount of support, and it's not too hard or too soft. I noticed my back and body doesn't feel achy when I wake up, and I'm much more energized and refreshed. So happy with our new mattress!!!

The Beautyrest Silver Extra Firm BRS900 is an excellent mattress! The mattress is extra firm as it states but it provides magnificent support for the spine and joints while sleeping. My husband and I were having alot of back issues and joint pain with our previous mattress so we decided to purchase a new firm mattress to get rid of joint pain and this new mattress does not disappoint. Our sleep quality has improve tremendously within days of having this new matress. My husband and I sleep alot longer and better throughout the night. My joint pain has reduced down tremendously to very little pain and my husband is not having anymore joint pains at all. Also my husband snores loudly and his snore has even became really low to the point that I can sleep more peacefully. I rate the mattress a 10/10 because my husband and I have better health and better sleep quality due to purchasing this new mattress.

My daughter has never been a great sleeper and recently started complaining that her mattress was too soft. So we decided to try tis Beautyrest mattress which is a medium firmness with just enough plushness. She is obsessed and has slept great the past week that she's had it. Standard queen size sheets fit perfectly. The mattress arrived in great condition and wrapped in sealed plastic. Delivery was a breeze. I'm highly considering upgrading my mattress to this one as well.

After setting up the bed, we decided we would sleep in the guest room for the night for review purposes. Sorry mom and dad, we decided to keep the bed for ourselves! LOL!
