Nice daystarter

As this was literally my first K-cup on a machine received as a Xmas gift, expectations were high. After running a full water reservoir thru with no coffee to clear the manufacture process, the Newman's Extra Bold was chosen and did not disappoint, would have made Paul proud! Great mouth feel, minuscule initial bitterness on the palate, just for a split second and then the balance of acidity and bold coffee flavours take over.

Used to be so good!

This, as many other reviewers have said, USED to be my favorite (with a passion) coffee. It was full of flavor, without being thick-tasting or heavy or bitter. Gradually it changed. I don't know the "story" of its demise, but what I have noted is that the name "extra bold" seems to mean nothing any more. I have ordered extra bold only to get NOT extra bold (not noted on the box or pods)... sent it back, to receive a replacement of Kcups that said extra bold on the box, but not on the pods. Same watered-down taste. Newman's had a good thing, why did they ruin it?

A nice introduction to Bold flavor

This is a great introduction to stronger coffee roasts. It's not acidic, leaves you with a nice pleasant taste, great first thing in the morning or watching the rain in the afternoon. Great with meals because it doesn't cover other flavors yet lets you know you are drinking coffee.

I'm on my third box of 80

I drink one or two cups of coffee per day and this is my coffee of choice. I'm on my third box of 80 and I love it. It is very bold, and I love the flavor. The one partial downside is that occasionally the particular k-cup I have used can be slightly more acidic than the rest, but most of the time the flavor is consistent and robust. I urge any strong coffee drinkers to at least sample this beauty!

Smooth but solid coffee

I like this coffee for my morning wake-up. It is smooth yet you know you have coffee in your cup, not something that resembles tea. (no offense to tea afficionados!) You can also make a decent sized cup in the Keurig and it keeps its flavor saturation!

Delicious!

Newman's Own - Extra Bold is delicious! It has a wonderful aroma and full-bodied taste and it's perfect for those java drinkers who enjoy their coffee on the robust side, like me! It's very smooth and balanced. Wonderful. I got this in the sample pack and I will surely be buying a full pack of Newman's Own.

My favorite so far

I am not sure how this "Medium Roast" is also "Extra bold" at the same time. I don't think it is really "extra bold". It has a balanced flavor (not bitter, not too acidic) and a good texture (not too watery, not too grainy). I like to try out different brands/roasts but am always happy going back to the Newman's Own.

I Love Strong, But...

When you want a flavor smack-down, this is it! This K-cup comes close to my own concoction in boldness and residual grounds in the bottom of the cup. Sometimes I want a powerful blast, and this does the trick. [...]had the 80-count for [$]! I was on it!

What happened??

This used to be my go-to coffee for ages. I thought maybe they just changed their packaging, but the whole flavor has changed; weaker, acidic, bitter aftertaste. Back to the drawing board to look for another brand. Maybe the Newman's Own bean-counters are paying attention to the wrong beans!

Not what it once was! What happened?!?!?

Great organic coffees are hard to find in the K-Cups. I used to really enjoy the Newman's Own Special Blend, organic or not. Sadly, as others have also found, it has recently changed and is just "meh" at best. So much more bitter and unsatisfying than before. My daughter and hubby, who have considered this same coffee on of their absolute favorites for some time, asked me the other day what I thought of the Newman's Own recently. They, too, had noticed it had gone seriously downhill to the point that they weren't too sure about ordering it again. Perhaps Newman's Own had a less-than-wonderful crop of some of the coffee in this blend? All I know is that I'm hoping this once-wonderful coffee will be restored to its previous level. I may give this another chance in a few months, but for now it is simply disappointing. Such a shame! :(
