Well put together watch. Lots of features.

I've had the Epix Gen 2 Sapphire refurbished for about 2 weeks now, and it hasn't left my wrist. The sad thing is that a lot of the new software available for many other models, including the Epix Pro, is unavailable for the Gen2 Sapphire. Being a thousand-dollar watch only 3 years ago is somewhat sketchy on Garmin's part. I paid only 400 for this refurbished model, but if I had purchased this new 3 years ago, I would be much more irritated. All and all seems to be worth the 400 I spent, but if I had to do it again, I would have looked for a good deal on the Epix pro.

Epix

I did buy a epix 2 week ago, I am planning to use it for golf and MTB sports,, so far my wearing the watch on my left hand does not help with my golf swing and tempo., extra mass on my left hand in giving me undesirable results Next time I will tray to wear the watch on my right arm and see if there is any difference.,

Almost there

This is overall a great watch, but it's missing a few features that I feel like it should have at this price point. The main two are having a real flashlight, and having the microphone functionality. It appears to have the microphone, it just doesn't do anything. Otherwise it's a fantastic watch. The battery life is the best I've ever had to where I tend to only need to charge it about once a week if I'm doing a handful of activities. The GPS tracking has been really consistent, and many of the health metrics have been really good. I also wear an Oura ring, which is very accurate on things like sleep, duration, quality, and HRV. I do find that the Garman slightly overestimates your sleep, compared to the ring, but the HRV is dead on, which is a very helpful metric. Like all fitness tracker watches, I don't rely on the wrist based heart monitor, and instead use an external strap, which pairs nicely.

Happy Overall

I decided to replace my previous watch with something more fitness oriented. So far, I am happy with the features, my only complaint is how easily the metal surrounding the face scratches - for something this expensive, I expected better materials. I've only been using it a month and the number of scratches is disappointing. This is just from normal wear and tear; I'm not doing any activities that would directly cause this. If I had to pick my favorite thing about it, it would be the battery and how quickly it recharges. 17 hours of battery life is phenomenal and within an hour, it can be fully charged. The interface is a bit clunky to get used to, trying to remember the functions of the 5 buttons and what they do in each mode takes time. But the information it provides when you figure it all out is great. I would give it 5 stars if it would not scratch so easily.

Best overall watch

I always love this version of garmin, unfortunately theya re not going to conitnue with this anymore but so far is giving me all the specs that I need specially maps. Something that didn't work for me was the huge display that sometimes feels a alittle big bulky. I considere this item for beginner if you want something to consider before consdiering the new garmin options. Like I mentiones before be aware that this product is discontinued.

Great Triathlon Watch, Great Value

I bought this model when it was first released, wore it daily, and competed in several races per year. Recently I started having a bit of trouble with one of the buttons and Garrmin simply offered a refurbished replacement which I agreed to. The Epix2 is still an incredible device when compared to many of the newer versions. For the money, and features I need, it'd be hard to justify a different model.

Great watch

I was not in the market for a new watch but I found this one on sale. I am using mine for back country adventures, the gym and daily health care. So far I have had it for about a month and feel like it's an upgrade to my fenix 5. The first thing is battery life is better. I love the weight of this watch and the look is spot on with class and elegance. I can go to the gym and out for dinner and not feel the need to change it.

So far very happy

When I bought this it was on sale. I felt like I wanted to upgrade my fenix 5 but I didn't really know why. The features mainly the battery life far out performs the 5 as well as the button responses. I really like the weight of this watch as it feels solid. The default watch is something I really enjoy. At first I didn't really know how I would like it but over time I can say the orange is a must have for me. Still working through the button flows and they seem laid out better than the 5. Your really can't go wrong with it. I wish you didn't need the other add on monitors. The Apple Watch is more intuitive than this and doesn't require extra straps/monitors.

Style Meets Sweat

Snagged the Garmin Epix for a steal, and I'm loving it. Looks awesome, feels solid, and keeps up with all my home workouts — from push-ups to chasing the kids mid-set. Tracks everything, battery lasts forever, and it makes me feel like a pro even when I'm just lifting in the garage. Dad-approved and worth every penny.
