I bought Epix Gen 2 about 8 months ago. Coming from an Apple Watch the biggest thumbs up was the battery life. Secondly it was the depth of statistics. I also loved the variety of watch faces and the ability to have a variety of stats at a glance. What i dont like is the accuracy of the heart rate monitor. If you are doing interval training, it can take up to a minute to a get up to your actual heart rate. Sometimes i have to hold onto something for it to read. I always want my stats at a glance and not on gesture or screen tap. I absolutely have watch apps that change face to “pure.” The IQ app is a joke. You install a watch face and/or uninstall another, when you refresh it has uninstalled the incorrect face. Then you have to install the face that was installed and good luck with that.

This watch was in fact more than what I was expecting with the Fenix 7 release. Quite an easy choice between the two watches. I do have a tiny wrist, so had pick between the watch that fit me 7s and the watch I wanted to fit (Epix). If Garmin could offer a 45mm and a 51mm in Epix, it would be ideal. I do love the AMOLED display and the battery life is fabulous compared to an Apple Watch.

I have a 7x sapphire solar, and while the long battery life was great, the screen visibility was less so. Especially using the map, the level of detail left something to be desired. The Epix is noticeably smaller and lighter. I don't hit door jambs all the time like I did with the 7x. The screen is incredible, easy to see, even for my old guy eyes. The increase in map detail is very noticeable. If you engage in activities that are days long, the 7x is definitely the way to go. If charging once I week isn't a big deal, i would encourage taking a hard look at the Epix. Like the 7x, the “feel” of the buttons has degraded since the 6x. You no longer get a positive tactile feel for a button push, which makes either watch feel to be lower quality. This might be the worst thing I can say about the Epix.

love the epic, eye sight isn't as good as it use to be so have a really bright and large display was something I really wanted. Has all the features I need and looks amazing. Upgraded from a Fenix 6 solar so was a huge improvement for me without losing what I needed

Just starting week three with my watch and it is really performing well. I am liking the stats it is giving so far and the sleep tracking and training readiness assessments have been useful to me. Battery life is amazing: I tend to charge it while I am taking my shower and I've rarely gone below 90% (except when I go 2+ days without charging any).

I love this watch because it has a beautiful screen that is particularly useful when using its built-in maps, which have impressive detail. I previously had a Fenix 6, and this watch feels considerably lighter and is also far more useful with the added touch screen. The battery does not take a significant hit from the high-quality screen, as the watch can still handle 16 hour scrambles in the mountains with almost 50% battery to spare.

It has a beautiful display, rock hard screen, and amazing battery life. I do wish it had an always on screen but a willing to accept that trade off for the battery life. I love how the display shows battery life in days left. Definitely full featured and weighs for about every door imaginable.

I love my Garmin products but sadly I have had 2 Epix devices and both continue to have random device rebooting issues and/or workouts stop recording mid ride and run. It seems to be a software issue since it's come about since the update with the running power feature addition. If It was my only device recording, it would be extremely frustrating. I have started using my iPhone and Hammerhead as backup as this error comes about intermittently.

I've had my Epix 2 sapphire for about a year now and have to say it has held up very very well. Still loving the build quality, screen, looks, and the updates. The watch is performing perfectly for all of my activities - hikes, walks, rowing, spin classes, and treadmill. And because it's built like a tank, it's still looks like new. Only minor scratch and a ding. Will definitely recommend.

Watch is loaded with features! I love the 14+ day battery life! My old watch needed charged almost every day. Everything seems to function as advertised. If I have one complaint it's that the stair counter works by changes in altitude rather than by accelerometer. Seems To miss entire flights inside the gym. Very pleased overall with the purchase.
