Our official statement reads: CA PROP. 65 WARNING: This product can expose you to chemicals including Nickel, which is known to the State of California to cause cancer and birth defects or other reproductive harm. For more information go to www.P65Warnings.ca.gov.Trace amounts of nickel may be present in the metal used to make this folding table. Rest assured, it's a very small amount (if any) and there are no known cases of anyone ever getting cancer related to the use of any of our products.

The weight limit is tested for a distributed load, so you won't want to put the weight right in the middle, it does need to be spread out on the table top.
