This play set is a very big play set. Important one end of lumber is stamped with a ink part number to identify the part that goes with the manual. some of the stamps on the lumber were a little hard to make out, but with another set eyes helps. SO DO NOT LIKE THE LUMBER GET WET!!!. I had no problem with putting this play set together in 16 hrs. This play set came in four boxes each box weights about 200-225 lbs each. The best way to start is to inventory all boxes. While you are inventorying look for pieces that you need and put with each other. Do this will help a lot saves a lot of time

This is a beautiful playset once assembled, We did initially go through and check off all the wooden pieces and sorted them into piles according to their letter, we had it laid out all on the garage floor, so we couldn't park in their for quite some time, as our yard was to flooded for the longest time to be able to actually begin building. my husband worked on this for 5 days, totalling about 32 hrs, with at least 20 of those hours being with one other guy, and he still has the finishing touches of all the handles to put on. He said it was alot of work, and was thinking at times that $500 seemed pretty appealing to have someone else do it, the only reason I docked this one star, was because I do agree that the swing arm could be 6 inches longer or so to give a little more room in between swings, but really not a big deal, For the amount of stuff you get on this swingset its a great deal, and the crowns nest lookout tower, is really cool. We were not missing any parts, however, my husband came up short on washers, and 2 1/2 in hex screws, he said they came with enough, but the problem is, is they can strip out easily, so he did have to go to the hardware and buy more of those, but that was no big deal, and if it weren't for that he would have actually been able to cut off the last day of 2 hrs. But ran out after hardware stores closed on a sunday, so had to wait.

I bought this set because it had all the things I wanted (a fort, monkey bars, rock wall, and several swings). It wasn't scheduled to arrive until next week but I was beyond estatic when it arrived early! My husband worked on it a little after work (because I have 4 under 5) and, due to some lingering light, i helped after kids went to bed we had it up in a week. not bad concidering it was essentially 1 person putting it together. Piece of advise would be to sort the pieces as you open the boxes, they are in there any kind of way and don't assume that all of 1 piece is in the same box. My husband tried to jump on it but I hadn't had a chance to sort it out yet and it was kind of a cluster. BUT I sorted it all out and got everything back on track during nap times so we were good to go on day 3 (was a saturday so 1st full day of work). Once you start getting it together and the pieces are orgnaized it really doesn't take that long and goes together smoothly. Also, pay very close attention to the instructions. My husband actually preferred the book to some app he found because apparently they didn't give the exact measurements of spacing and the alignment of the holes. In the long run, I had 5 10 yos, 8yo, 5yo, 4yo, 3yo, 1yo playing on it during a birthday party today and it held up beautifully and they all seemed to have an amazing time. I may end up getting some more boards to close up the other bottom of the picnic area because I really am NOT feeling sand or try to find some other cool use for it... maybe a childs hammock... but GREAT PURCHASE!

This is a well priced playset and my children all love it (ages 2, 5, 9). Its beautiful, high quality and sturdy. The only downside is the assembly. When the directions say it will take 2 people 24-36 hours, that is NOT an exaggeration. We hired handymen to do it and it took them three days and cost us more than the set itself. So, make sure you have the manpower to assemble!

So much more for your money. You won't be sorry if you buy this play/swing set. Great price compared to other vendors. Did the assembly on our own, husband and son are carpenters. If not handy I would recommend paying the extra for the assembly. Great value for the money!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this set 8 months ago for my 8 year old. She has really enjoyed having “reading clubs, dance clubs, and so many other gathering in the club house with her friends. It’s been a good investment.

Almost perfect Nearly perfect! Easy (but long) instructions. Did almost everything with one person. Came up short by 3 on one bag of screws, but brass wood screws are easy to find. A few boards were warped but not unusable. It has a great warranty and if I wanted to have BYD replace those parts, they would in an instant. Give yourself 3-4 days if you are doing this by yourself, 2-3 with 2 people. The monkey bars are 7.5 ft off the ground so we are waiting to install them until we have wood chips down. The most important part? The kids love it!

I'm giving this overall rating of 4 stars instead of 5 stars because of the delivery company. Sam's almost lost the sale altogether because the delivery company couldn't get off their lazy lying butts to deliver as promised. I had to threaten to cancel and refuse any future delivery attempts unless they had it delivered by 3:00 pm on that final promised day. They showed up at 2:50! The product is good. If I could suggest an improvement it would be the indentification of the lumber pieces (the stamp on the pieces themselves) and identify which box the pieces are located in during the instruction step. There are 4 large boxes of lumber and hardware. Each box has an inventory sheet but you have to look at each box's inventory sheet to find the correct board to use for that step in the manual. Lots of time wasted looking for lumber. The wood quality is good and all pieces were there except for one L bracket. Also, customer support doesn't like to answer there phone so be prepared to wait on hold for a long time if you need something. It took 2 resonabaly knowledgable men about 25-30 hours to complete the assembly of this ,fort. Probably 5 of thoses hours were digging through boxes looking for lumber. The metal and all hardware is good quality. I am empressed which the finish of all the metal pieces. Overall a great product!

I research a great deal before I purchase anything significant. This Skyfort placeset is the best product you can buy for the money. The quality of the wood and building materials, design and complexity of the playset cannot be had elsewhere for less. A similar rainbow playset would be $3000-5000 depending on the wood you choose. I ordered the playset online, it was delivered quickly and placed where I had designated. After some deliberation I decided to have it professionally installed by Sams Club/NEW. I am very grateful I chose that route. It took 2 professionals which have built this thing over 20 times, over 12 hours. I cannot speak to how long it would take to build it yourself, but it would be much longer than this. There is no right or wrong answer, just be aware there are costs either way you go, money or time. It was $500 to install, which is very fair in my opinion. I also decided to build a bordered in play area for the set. I used landscape timbers and fabric and 14 cubic yards of mulch. It was an extra expense, but was well worth it. Lastly you will need to Stain/Seal the wood of this set "every year" according to the manual. They recommend a Thompsons Water Seal. Unless you like to redo things over and over every year I would buy a better product. I decided after a great amount of research to use Flood TWF Semi-Transparent Stain. This will likely last 3 years before it has to be sanded and redone instead of every year for a Thompsons product. My kids love it and I feel great about getting them something so fun to play with.

We LOVE our Sky Fort II playset. It has brought hours of fun for our 5 year old (and our 9 month old loves to swing in the baby swing we put up in place of one of the regular swings). It looks amazing and has so many fun features. Friends and cousins love coming to play on on backyard fort! We were looking for a playset that our kids would not outgrow in a couple of years and this one is a winner for sure.
