I chose this swing + set because of many reasons but some of the most important to me were the reviews from others that were very helpful, price/without added shipping, many extras that a 7-8 year old wants and just that I loved the look with the bay windows and lookout tower. Do sort the pieces and bag the hardware for each step. I had all the pieces with ours and it took two days 8 hours each to put together.

When I received the playset it looked like a huge task from the 4 boxes of parts. I was able to complete this by myself in about 25 hours. The directions were fairly clear and the wood markings were mostly readable. Assembly was simple and when I ran short of a bag of bolts and 1 floor board a simple call to customer service had all parts on there way to me with no questions ask. My 3 year old is having a ball.

Ordered the playset with assembly (and pre-paid Sam's Club in full including assembly) and getting their third party company to show up has been a disaster. I paid Sam's club for an end-to-end service and their install keeps being postponed last minute. Has been over a month now that it has been sitting here. Sam's club takes your money very quickly.

Construction: Quality Parts. Directions simple to follow. Slight skills needed, but any weekender will have no problem putting this set together. As previous reviews I've read around web on this set recommend and warn, it's time consuming but inventory all parts/lumber first, will save time later searching when assembling. Do need an adult (14yo+ helper) for a few sections to be held in place, but other than that can pretty much can be built solo. I did it in sections where I knew I didn't need a helper, then when mine was available we'd put those sections together. I spread it out over 4 days as it was a gift from Santa and we had a few family things planned the days when I was building. When finally built, it looks big but it is not a huge eye-sore, very attractive. Use/Enjoyment: Kids love it (4.5yo and 2yo). Climb all over, swing non-stop (really like the glider) and slide right off the slide, it's fast. Kind of wish it was a flatter slide, as the bumpy slide looks uncomfortable (camel hump slide my kids call it). I tried it and let me just say, I won't be going down it very often. Kid's don't seem to mind. I think I'll swap it out for a tube slide or something without the "camel" humps before the years end as it tends to catapult my 2yo over the slide pad mat (recommend), although she is all smiles every landing and right back up the ladder for more. *Only reason 4 stars rating is the slide - a quality different version will cost roughly $300+ other than that this set is 5 stars. Overall extremely happy with this purchase as my kids laughter and smiling faces when they use it are proof enough it was a great buy!

Well it is a fort. We did get it finished. The directions are the worst I have ever seen. There is nothing to say which end of post are up or down. The illustrations are not clear to show boards go inside or outside of the rails,etc.etc. It was just re do after re do. I even had 3 boards that had to be trimmed so they would fit. When we put the roof on one side it was fine. The other side has a 5" space between roof and side wall. Just crazy.... After it was shipped I could track it until it reached main dock. Then no more tracking. It took 5 days till someone contacted me to set up a day for delivery.

This is an amazing playset, however it is a beast to set up by yourself. I'd have at least 3-4 people helping to set it up, and organize your wood by letters from the get go. It would he nice if some of the parts were actually put together upon opening, we were missing a piece of wood other my husband had to build from scratch, which was frustrating. But over all great quality.

This is a very nice pay set. My 2 1/2 and 5 year old love it! Some reviews say it is cheap and poor quality. I do not agree with that. After we placed our order it took about two weeks before it was delivered. It comes freight, on a pallet, with 4 large/long boxes. The weight is around 900lbs. The freight company was great and placed it in my garage. I paid for assembly and the company called right as it was delivered. Two weeks later the guy was out and it took him 2 1/2 days to assemble. Well worth the price! TONS of small pieces and bolts, etc... They assembly guy was great and knew exactly what he was doing! I would really recommend this play set for smaller children!

So, its been 2 weeks since I have finally had the swing set built. The kid absolutely loves this thing and while that is the sole reason we do any of this. I wanted to give an honest review of the entire set up. Now this review is for the DIYers not the ones who paid for installation. I'm quite capable and have all the necessary tools to do this job without even thinking twice as well as this is part of what I do for a living is installation maintenance and repair of items. 1) as was stated by others and myself now. It comes in with a lot of heavy boxes when delivered. Be prepared as this is something that you will have to be mindful of and how they are moved. 2) separate out the parts. Keep the parts list for each box and keep those boxes separate from one another. 3) Use sandwich bags and itemize each step with hardware to each bag. This process takes a long time but you will be happy when its done. This also allows for the ability to find out what is missing. Found a couple of items that were not shipped as far as hardware goes. Customer service is amazing for them and they shipped those items out next day by the way. Just do your diligence in regards to the hardware items. Count twice. put things in bags for each step and you will be less likely to throw things later. 4) the wood is questionable. Now granted chinese cedar is cheap and you can tell that by how soft that wood is. There's a great deal of warpage, but you almost have to accept that as it is wood and it does warp some. Though some of those pieces are brittle and some of them came in cracked. I made due and was able to make some pieces out of cedar I found at menards. This is something I just didn't want to wait for in the build process. 5) Pay attention to hole locations, sometimes the directions are a bit sketchy and after a period of time, and having to go back and forth many times, it gets daunting. I was less than impressed with the directions, but thats because I'm picky and I don't care for how these items were stamped. Some of those stampings you couldn't read so you were having to guess on those parts, hence why I said keep the parts list for each box and those items separated out. 6) the hardware, that stuff is cheap and some of the shavings were not completely cleaned out. The threads were fouled. Some nuts had metal shavings still attached to them and could not be used. Really just cheap stuff. You all that make this should do a better quality control of those items and the stamping of the wood. Also some of the holes did not line up either. 7) it is definitely a sturdy playset when its anchored into place, even with someone as big as myself climbing up on top to put the roofing in. All in all, again this is because my child loves this is why we purchased it. The headaches I experienced would be for anyone doing this assembly themselves, but I am so thankful I organized the hardware the way I did because I would have lost my mind putting this together each step only to realize I was missing items. We are very happy with this swing set and our kids (and the neighbor kids) love it. The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 was because of the delivery hassle we encountered with the third party delivery service. Got the runaround from them on the delivery for a while before we finally received it, and we found them to be very unprofessional. We paid extra through Sams to have GoConfigure set it up and boy, is that worth the extra money! 2 men showed up and assembled the entire thing without glancing at the instructions in 5 hours flat! I thought that was going to be impossible. A lot of people have said bad things about GoConfigure, but our installation process was seamless. We are having GoConfigure come out in the fall to weather proof the swing set for $300 to protect it from the winter. If you don't want to pay to have someone do it for you, make sure you weatherproof it yourself. You cannot expect untreated wood to not rot and warp. Too bad Backyard Discovery doesn't weatherproof the wood for you in the factory. Overall after hours and hours of research, I think this swing set delivers the best bang for your buck and I do recommend it. Total time from order to installation was about 4 weeks.

Love this playset! We bought this for our 2 year old daughter. She outgrew her toddler set and we figured this set would last her until she was 9 or 10. She absolutely loves it! She plays on it for hours everyday. Loves the rockwall and the look-out tower (she likes to pretend she is Rapunzel). Obviously she is too small for the monkey bars but she hangs off them with daddy holding her. I would not hesitate to recommend this set. It is high quality and well made. We compared this to a set at a big box hardware store, and this set was much nicer and better made at a much lower price. A couple small comments... one, some, not all, of the hardware is cheaply made (screws stripped etc). For a nice set, the hardware should be better. Second, the pieces all come in different boxes with no rhyme or reason. My suggestion is to take an hour and separate the wood by letter and number. You will save hours searching for pieces. I did this for my husband and he was so happy. Believe the 24-48 hour time estimate for assembly. My husband and son built this in about 30 man hours. Overall a great purchase!
