Highly variable readings

Two weeks in and I'm concerned that the device is not very accurate. I have another BP monitor that I've been using for quite a while. I get ridiculously high readings with the Index monitor and lower readings with the old montor. I can test with the Index just a few minutes after a high reading and get a wildly different reading a few minutes later. It does work great as far as connecting and transferring data to Connect.

Great monitor that integrates with Garmin Connect.

Received the monitor as a Xmas gift. Love that the data are captured seemlessly in Garmin Connect. It would get five stars from me but the cuff is surprisingly difficult to put on tight enough. Take off a half star for that. I am very happy with the monitor.

Easy to Carry Around - Convenient

I bought this about a month ago. I love that it is small and easy to carry anywhere. I like it because it gives good blood pressure numbers. The only problem, I have, the arm band cannot be tighten more before you turn on the blood pressure monitor. Otherwise a good investment.

I would have given it 5 stars, but for the cuff.

I purchased the Index due to it's size and “all in one” construction, which I felt would be perfect for traveling. I currently own an Equate monitor, which has been going strong for a couple of years, but it takes up room in my suitcase. The only complaint I have is the cuff design. It's the same size as the Equate, but I am not impressed with the “strip” design of the Velcro. My arm size happens to fall within one of the plastic strips, and I cannot bent it to stay in place. It either falls outside the strip and is too loose, or too tight if I place it on the other side. I recommend you use a tankard “half and half” cuff design.

Very easy to use and accurate readings

Seems very accurate. It's right on par with a high end Omron I have. The Garmin is much smaller and easier to use. I wish it had a rechargeable battery, but other than that it's a great tool. Nice that it keeps track in the Connect app. Makes it easu to share the info with my doctor if needed.

Good product but room for improvements

My bottom line up front: With a true, one size fits all and user replaceable cuff, I would have given the Garmin Index BPM 5 stars and would definitely buy it again. Easy to setup and pretty intuitive to use once you get to know the three buttons and their functions. I really enjoy the features and compactness the Garmin Index BPM provides. The seamless connection with Garmin Connect through Wi-Fi is a great feature and I no longer have to manually transfer my readings. Though, I feel Garmin missed the mark with the cuff. While the cuff would seem to accommodate various upper arm sizes, in my experience, the three bands of Velcro interfere with getting a consistent fit over the width of the cuff. I would have preferred one continuous cuff instead of the three sectioned one that is provided. Also, I currently own and have owned many Garmin devices and am 100% confident that the electronics will outlast the cuff material and would have liked to see it employ a user replaceable cuff.

Accurate monitor

I found it hard to pair initially as I also did with the scale. Maybe it's me but I usually don't have these kind of problems. Also difficult to add a person. I finally gave up on that. Need to be able to do something with the extra cuff if you have smaller arms. My wife had difficulty putting it on her arm. The good and the reason I bought it is once it is paired it syncs well with Garmin Connect. I doubt I would buy this product again

Garmin delivers again!

I have my own BP cuff at home. It's merely serves the purpose for measuring BO and pulse. My new Garmin BP monitor integrates the information into Garmin connect which is awesome! I used to enjoy the data I'd receive at the HIGI station at the store because it would track your measurements and enable you to send it'll the information to your PCP. Since the pandemic closed down these stations, I basically stopped paying attention to my BP. Now with this added Garmin Device, I'm able to resume at the convenience of my home. IT's accuracy seems spot on, as it compares to my other test measurements obtained from other BP devices. Garmin delivers again!

Simple, reliable and easy to use

I have been using the monitor for about five weeks now. Setup was quick and easy. I adjusted the cuff only once. It is nice that, after that initial the initial setup and adjustment, the cuff neatly folds into a small package. No tubes or cables. I programmed my user name, paired it and now I take my blood pressure daily in the afternoon. I always use the 3-test function. As a bonus, I now have the date together with all my other health and fitness data in Garmin Connect. I have had and used a handful of Garmin products over the years. This is the most straight forward, well designed one of them all.

Not accurate in the least

If I could give "0" stars, I would. The device read 20-25 mmHg systolic and 10-15 diastolic higher than a calibrated OMRON 7-Series Upper Arm Cuff and a 7-Series Wrist Monitor. Brought GARMIN Index BPM to my HCP, and the readings were consistently higher than the manual readings. My BP fluctuates throughout the day, based upon, but not limited to, the morning surge. 104-64 to 128-78 is my typical daily range. Garmin Index BMP recorded readings in Stage 1 and Stage 2 hypertension ranges consistently. My Garmin Connect app is connected to my Apple Health app, which is connected to other apps. Inaccurate recording and reporting of BP in health databases could result in the rejection of life-insurance or the designation of a preexisting medical condition to payers and providers. Not a risk anyone should be willing to take. legally, Garmin protects itself with "disclaimers". Those disclaimers protect Garmin and not the user of Garmin Medical Devices. Customer service was abysmal, not unlike customer service from so many companies today. They couldn't care less if they lose you as a customer. Love my Venu 2 Plus fitness tracker and the Index S2 scale. But will not repurchase the Index BPM until they fix the design flaws resulting in inaccurate readings.
