This is one gumbo that is surprisingly tasty

When you don't need a huge amount of gumbo this is the way to go. It's really delicious..and I'm very critical of gumbo. Its good, authentic cajun gumbo. I've bought this 4 times

Let me say up front, I don't know anyone with this company. I would this gumbo at Sams Club for maybe a year, but I could not bring myself to buy it then because at that time the recipe had Okra in it. Well recently I saw they had it at Sams without the okra. I am very picky about my gumbo so I did not have high hopes, but you don't know unless you try it. Well I'm so happy I did. This is the best store bought gumbo I have every had. True Cajun Restaurant quality and taste. This is like you would find in good cajun restaurants in south Louisiana. Spot on for flavor. We did not have to add any seasoning, it was so good just as it was. This is "not" a light blonde roux, but a dark brown Roux like it should be. If you want great gumbo at a reasonable price point, you need to give this a try. I guess if you like okra in it, you could add it yourself. I'm happy they removed it because now I can have great gumbo in my freezer, ready to go. Make some rice ( or potato salad) and you are ready to enjoy. I hope Sams Club never stops carring this item.

So worth it! I would add my own shrimp because I like shrimp in my gumbo but the chicken and sausage was really good.

I wasn’t sure what to expect from frozen gumbo, but this one blew me away. The chicken and sausage are seasoned perfectly, and the broth tastes like it’s been simmering all day...rich and flavorful, not watery like some store-bought meals. Each pack comes with two big boil-in bags, which makes it super easy for a quick dinner. I just dropped the bags in boiling water and 15 minutes later had a meal that honestly tastes homemade. Perfect with a scoop of rice on the side. Definitely will be keeping this stocked in my freezer.

The flavor is good, but the amount of chicken and sausage was lacking. After adding more meet and also some okra, it is pretty good.

mostly broth needs much more chicken and sausage. Needed Louisiana hot sauce to kick it up in flavor

I wasn't super impressed with this for the price. It was too salty. The sausage was tough and chewy, not tender at all. I won't buy this again.

Its a watery soup with paper thin slises of sausage and some shredded chicken. A waste of your money!
