The calendar is great. App works great. I wish the chore chart had options that make it less of a manual process to enter chores, change chores from kid to kid, have flexible dates for a child to complete a chore (right now have to assign a day, which affects when the chores appear on the screen),etc. After using it for a couple weeks there are things I would want to change (and I wish Skylight sought such feedback for updates), but overall this is what I was looking for and it's working well for my family.

It is rare that you come across a product that is designed well from every angle. The build, feel, programming and interaction of the skylight are all extremely well thought out. The way it walked me through sinking calendars, the way it displays them, the way you create chores and everything else leaves little room for improvement. The kids run to it every morning and evening to check off their chores and we all use it to see what the day and week holds for us. Most commercials oversell their product and its capabilities but if you like what you see in the ads for this product then get it because it rises to the occasion! My kids particularly love the new feature where you can draw on your phone and it turns into a screensaver on the skylight. So fun and so cool to see their art come to life when the skylight is not in use.

I really like it. Good size and replaced my paper calendar, chore chart & lists on my fridge which is awesome. It syncs really well and fast! I was hoping for more of an “operating system” like adding weather widgets or alarms/timers. Also the chore feature is nice and simple but it is missing some efficiency pieces (running total of days/weeks/months chores are completed) rewards/awards to win, etc… plus it would be great if the screen could do split screen where one tile shows the calendar the other tile shows grocery list for example. All things that could come with software updates but overall it works for what I wanted!

While the frame and photo feature are lovely products, we purchased Skylight as a family organization center. We were only interested in the calendar and chore features. After trying the product out for about a month we found the following too challenging to work with: -Chores cannot be added to multiple people at once, so if you are adding the same chore to multiple people you have to submit that same exact entry multiple times -Chores cannot be organized or reordered once they have been entered. There is no option to enter time of day for chores, or to reorder chores, or to assign them for certain times of day. Once entered in the app, the chores for each person appear in a completely randomized order on the frame and must be continuously scrolled through to find the next chore to be completed -Only the app can be used to add items to the frame. The website has no access for this. -You cannot select multiple categories (people) when adding events from the frame. If you want to add an event for multiple people, you would have to create a whole new category for those people. All of these shortcomings were shared with the Skylight team. The response I received noted that the calendar and chore features are brand new to the Skylight offering and that the suggestions would be passed on to the team. Customer service has been great. We simply need a calendar/chore management system that is more developed, intuitive, user-friendly, and optimized for large families.

Its ok. The app has some bugs in it. If I want to change the date of an event a blank space appears below the date with nothing in it. If i randomly tap and slide I can figure out what area is for what part of the date month, day, year. I would suggest looking at the css and change the display attribute or z-index. Overall: The app and intuitiveness needs to be updated. Its not completely user friendly yet. Looking forward to a software update. It is very helpful for my adhd husband though.

This is a game changer. We previously used several Google calendars, synched several sports calendars, and used a ton of color coding. There was no device that displayed this well digitally so we printed, and re-printed, and reprinted again each week to keep the latest on the fridge. This display give us the latest and greatest for all four of our family members and eliminates any possibility we've missed something. The bonus has been that our kids (8 and 10) enjoy checking off their chores every day and I have been able to abandon the mess of post-its and reminders by adopting the chores list for me and my husband as well. The investment is well worth it!

My wife and I are mostly impressed with our Skylight calendar. But there’s a few bugs and some things that could be better from a user interface standpoint. For starters, the process to synch an apple calendar wasn’t quite as simple as the app led me to believe. I figured it out, but I had to take a bit of a back door yo do it. When it synched google calendars, it had an unusual categorical process that made it look like there was a bunch of junk. After deleting was appeared to be empty junk categories, my wife found that she had accidentally deleted one of her entire calendars and had to rebuild it completely. As far as the user interface goes, I’m not a fan of the fact that I cannot zoom out to a month or year view and then drill down to where I want. Instead, I have to just thumb through week by week. I also think it would be a great idea for it to light up and go dark based on light conditions of the room it’s in instead of based on time of day. Overall, we like it, and it makes our lives a little easier. But I wish they would have made some very simple, but useful improvements to the software.

I was looking for a method to help my children do their chores and I stumbled upon the Skylight Calendar. I absolutely LOVE it!! The calendar has helped me and my family be more organized. The only thing I don’t like is the calendar tends to change displays which can be kind of annoying but I still use it everyday!

Love it. Very convenient. I've waited for a decade for something like this. The "magic import" feature is truly amazing - this alone is worth the plus subscription. I just forward my sons' sports schedules for the season, and magically all events are added to the calendar. Saves a ton of time.

I love this calendar. I was sick of hand-writing sports schedules in a color-coded array only to have everyone ask me when practice/games were. Now, I can set recurring events easily and erase them just as easily when they are cancelled. Everyone has their own color and literally everyone looks at the calendar daily. Even my husband. This has been a game changer for our menu, our schedule, and the constant barrage of questions involving what chores need to be done to earn screen time. This nifty screen answers all of life’s questions and leaves this mama free to do other things like paint her nails.
