We're loving the ease and flexibility of using the Skylight Calendar. It would be great to be able to edit chores and dinner options, rather than fully delete them in order to change something that needs updating. I would also like an option to 'reload' my Google calendar in it to refresh / start over. I accidentally removed the color codes that I have saved in my google calendar, and they are no longer translating on the frame. I suppose I could delete my account from it and start over? It doesn't seem super intuitive to 'refresh' the calendar to reload original settings.

It's one of those tech products that's great ... almost. In the view we're using you can't see the whole day at once, which my mom finds disorienting. In another view, it puts all the events together at the top instead of distributing them through the day. it's also bright, and the button to turn the screen off and on is hard to find with your fingers / hard to see if you mounted the calendar at face height. We're thinking about putting something in front of it that can be moved out of the way. Frustrating that design foibles like this make the calendar unusable for us (because my mom is so easily confused). For people who don't care about seeing the whole day at once it's probably ok (but maybe frustrating)

There are some bugs with the “to do” list and other features I think would be helpful. Like for lists that I use again (packing lists for kids), I wish there was a way to unselect all items in order for it to be ready to use. The chores has some bugs as well. I also don’t understand why the meal prep stuff requires an additional cost. That should be included.

Loving this so far, it syncs well with our Cozi app...the only downside is that all Cozi (which is where we store all events so they can show up on the Skylight for easier access for my kids to see) events come in as one person despite us putting in specific people. So you can't sort on the Skylight by person, only if the event was added on the Skylight.

Sometimes it goes black when I upload photos from my phone and I need to restart it. It also cuts off the heads in some of the photos so I wish it had an option to format. Overall though it has been great and has really helped our family stay organized.

Skylight’s best feature is its integration with multiple calendaring apps. However, it hasn’t improved our lives dramatically. It would be more valuable if the UX features include a running to-do list on the same screen as/beside the calendar view. If we could walk by the screen and be reminded of our to-dos, that would add to its value. You also can’t wall-mount it vertically, which would be better for my space. The screen does not rotate for a portrait orientation. We’d also want more settings to control the photo screensaver. I’d love if the interface allowed the calendar, to do list, and photos on the screen concurrently, without requiring taps to get to each. You get absorbed with the pictures and forget it has other functions.

The calendar is good (including lists), but the add-on photo part has not met my expectations. The photos scroll WAY too quickly and distract me from what I’m doing in the room. I see no way to adjust the speed. I will not renew the photo subscription if this is not corrected.

We are super busy, but we also realized things are always changing! Before Skylight we had a large hand written calendar hanging in our home, manual changes mid month were a nightmare! Now everything is seamless and real time so we can keep up with our daily duties! Our kids are also loving their digital chore charts!

It only lets you do chores for 5. We have 6 kids... This creates a problem. It also doesn't keep things in the order you put them in, it mixes everyting up. This creates a problem because my kids have nothing, afternoon and evening chores... It would be nice if they could stay in order. Also you can't edit what you put in only erase and start again. It's nice for everyone to be able to see the calendar but the software needs some work for big families.

This is a cool tool to help keep the family organized. The kids like to play with it and check off their chores. Setup was easy (except for the fact that Apple doesn’t want to play nicely with anyone - not Skylight’s fault). Two things make it a little less than stellar. First, for the price, the device feels a little underwhelming. It’s quite large for simply being a touch screen that doesn’t even have a ton of on-board processing. Second, the fee to add pictures and email events is irritating. These are small additions that make it feel like we’re being nickel and dimed for things that come free on many other devices. I don’t mind paying a subscription fee if I feel like what I get is worth it, but in this case, it feels more like ransoming basic elements of the product. Otherwise, this is a great tool and my family looks forward to using it for better organization.
