An Impressive Watch

I've had my Vivoactive 5 for several weeks, and I'm happy with my purchase. The watch has many features that are easy to access and use. The battery holds a charge for several days and charges quickly.

Very Pleased with the Upgrade

Very pleased with this recent purchase which replaced my Venu Sq that had started to freeze up occasionally resulting in lost activities/steps. I'm still learning about all of its features but no complaints so far!!

Terrible SW update experiences

Love my watch when it works. However, EVERY time there is a software update then the battery life goes from 9 days to less than a day. The only way I've been able to figure out how to fix it is to factory reset the watch, uninstall the app from my phone and then set everything up over again. Then it works fine until the next SW update. They also don't allow users to disable updates.

Glad I bought it.

Bought this about a month back, when my VivoActiv 3 finally died. I had found that one mildly useful, but never got into beyond the basics. The 5 is so much better, better display, better usability, everything I had imagined a smart watch "should" be. So, I like it a lot.

No more altimeter :(

I have been wearing a vivo since the 3, and was excited to get this “upgrade” to a 5. The bright display is great, yep. The loss of the altimeter is not great, however, and unfortunately I have returned the watch. It's not in the 6 either. The “fix” I was given was that I could view the altitude after the activity in the app, however elevation is something I check during the activity, not after. Huge bummer, Garmin.

Vivoactive 5

Still learning how to operate. Need to call in for assistance as rolling the wrist doesn't always awake the screen. Password in watch is cumbersome, want to remove it, will need to call for help as well. Works well, learning curve greater than previous Vivosmart 4.

Update from a VivoActive 3

I had a VivoActive 3 and do like the VivoActrive 5 better. It has more vivid colors, it was compatible with my favorite watch face "Rails". It seems brighter but I used to use the 3 for a night light walking through a dark room, but the new one doesn't work for that. The old one I charged once a day, the new one goes about 4 days between charges. The 3 used to use 7% of batteries on walks, the 5 only uses 3%. It doesn't keep trying to change watch faces like the 3 did. Not sure I like the morning update feature. I would like to be able to set the Oxygen sensor to check levels once every 10 minutes during the day along with the night monitor.

Great Features

I bought this about 3 weeks ago and I am glad I did. I owned a Garmin before. I had it several years and it stopped working. I tried a cheaper brand which was awful, so I switched back to Garmin. I like that it has its own GPS and doesn't need to connect to my phone during my workout. I like that the face is big enough to show distance, pace, heart rate and over all time at one glance. No need to switch back and forth between faces.

Over rated. Not a good fitness tracker.

After using this smartwatch/fitness tracker for 6 months I am very disappointed in the product. It does not accurately measure heart rate, pretty important in training. The intensity recording is also way off as it considered repotting a plant to be intensity minutes. I have also had to reboot the unit several times because the screen would not turn on. Garmin will only exchange for a refurbished unit. I expected more from this brand. May as well buy a knock off.

Battery life

It works good only thing is the battery, at first it lasted 11 days and since then after an update it was 24 hrs then had to watch a video to learn where everything was and turned off gps and now getting a week only had it 3 weeks we'll see how it goes. But watch the YouTube videos to learn how to use it.
