On top of my game with the Garmin VivoActive 5

The Garmin VivoActive 5 is a great tool to know where my body is at physically. I can see my heart rate, body battery (very cool), and even my stress level at a glance. This provides feedback so I can modify my activities, or better yet, get more active, as needed. I enjoy the sleep score and knowing how I slept. Activities are easy to track and there are many default activities to choose from. This is a nice looking, easy to wear, smartwatch. I really like it.

Vivoactive 5

My wife got me one for my birthday. I had charged it twice and the second time the metal ring around the charging pins broke. I call and it was replaced with no problems. The one I received in place of has been great and I have had no issues. Very good watch with many functions and abilities for a decent price

It's complicated

I bought this a few months after I had open heart surgery, so I can monitor my heart rate. Doctors said needs to stay below 130. Many of the features don't apply to me. I wish there was an app for people who've had heart surgery, that encourages them to lower their heart rate. It's not intuitive for me. I found help by looking up on YouTube how to change and adjust items on it.

A great upgrade from my Vivoactive 3

I have had my watch for a week and am highly impressed. The watch is very lightweight and feels very comfortable on my tiny wrist. The graphics are amazing and easy to read. I did an indoor marathon and my previous watch did not accurately measure the laps but this one did! I love the new features compared to the old one. I am still getting used to the functions as it does work slightly different but this is an improvement as the Vivoactive 3 sometimes did weird things at night due to the touchscreen feature. I originally charged the watch to full power and it seriously will last a week which will be great for weekend trips. I haven't explored any additional features such as triathlons on it but I am sure with the activity readings I won't be disappointed. Thank you Garmin!

Great battery and keep me motivated

I bought this watch as I am trying to be more mindful of my walking. I opened it on a Friday, set it up and straight out of the box it was up to 85%, I did not charge it until 9 day later, that next Sunday as it was 3% and I had worknon Monday. IMPRESSIVE! Also during the day it tells me if I am stressed if I need to get up a walk a bit, my body battery levels. Still letting it learn my sleep patterns and all the other functions. I love this! Already recommended a coworker to get one as well ❤️

Overall great fitness watch

I have been using my Vivoactive 5 now for a little less than a month. I had previously purchased various cheap fitness watches to use as a step counter, but they all broke after a few months of wear. My Husband’s colleague suggested this watch, and so we both decided to give it a try. Overall, I would recommend this watch to anyone who is looking to get more from their health and wellbeing. Besides cheap fitness watches, I have not owned a watch to this caliber, so I can’t compare it to other watches of its kind, but here’s my overall thoughts: PROS - This watch does a great job at motivating me to MOVE. I’ve literally put off going to bed to make sure I reach my step count and find that I’m more active than ever before. - Being able to customize your strength training workouts through the watch is a game changer. I love that I don’t need to carry my phone around the gym to track what I’m doing. - I love that it’s waterproof and that I can track my laps while swimming. (See notes regarding swimming under cons, too). - The band is comfortable and isn’t distracting or anything (as opposed to previous watches I’ve had), and the lilac color is nice and not as stand out as a black band. - The body battery and sleep score are a nice touch – we’re constantly asking each other what the others is at. It’s also helped me realize how awful my body reacts and sleeps when I drink. CONS - When swimming, I’ve noticed that the tracking isn’t 100% perfect. If I’m swimming free style at a fast pace, it’s fine, but if I want to casually swim during a cool down it typically counts my meters as farther than I’ve gone. Not a total issue, just not a perfect forecast. Additionally, not being able to customize swim workouts is a bit of a bummer, but again not the end of the world. - As someone who’s not technologically advanced, I feel there could be better tutorials or deep dives into how to use it. I had a really hard time connecting my Spotify account, as well as understanding how to create a workout (once I figured it out it’s super easy, but my Husband and I both put our workouts in incorrectly at first because there isn’t much explanation about how to use it). Opportunity for Improvement - Would love to see an additional work out option for aerial yoga. - The challenges are great. I feel there’s an opportunity to make the weekly challenge for steps against others more competitive/like a game. I’m not sure that would be useful to all, but I feel like it would help incentivize me to walk event more! - Would highly recommend purchasing a screen protector for your watch as well, easy to scratch.

Steep Learning Curve

I bought this 3 weeks ago to replace a Fitbit Charge 5. This watch does a much better job of finding the correct time as I am a frequent flyer and the sync function to my phone is much better than Fitbit. But it has so many features and the touch screen is super sensitive, I am having difficulty getting the functions I want displayed and editing them. I am also not an audio visual learner so all the videos are not that helpful.

Very nice smart watch for a very reasonable price!

I previously had a Vivoactive 4. Overall, I liked it, but I always wished it had a more modern looking AMOLED screen. The new Vivoactive 5 has the nice, colorful screen I was hoping for, plus several new features that I really like. The battery lasts much longer in the 5. The process for entering reps and weight for exercises is much easier to use. It also seems to be more accurate at detecting which exercises I have done (Triceps Press, Bench Press, etc.). When I receive text messages, I can not only read the message on the 5, but I can also see attached photos. The new reports I get on the 5 are also nice.

Happy - New Vivo5 Owner

had purchased a Forerunner 55 to replace my Forerunner 235, but was disappointed with the battery life (lasted 2-3 days). Vivo 5 has been lasting 10-11 days. Like the new features (body battery, sleep score) too compared to the 235. Vivo 5 has the ability to store and playback Spotify playlists, but it is hard to operate while running and drains the battery life.

It does everything I need and more

I had a Vivo move hr for several years and it wouldn't hold a charge for more than 1 day. I had been researching other Garmin Vivoactive watches and decided on this model. I'm a senior, so it took some trial and error before I got it set up. Really appreciate how much more information I have compared to the old watch. Also all the bands from the other watch fit this one, so a definite win. I'm sure there are many other functions that I am not using, but happy with what I am currently have. Also, the online user manual was very helpful for setting up the watch.
