Liked my Vivoactive 3, Love my Vivoactive 5!

I had literally worn my Vivoactive 3 every day since September 2017 and I very much enjoyed it. The battery life was never fantastic but toward the end it was getting worse. I decided to invest in a Vivoactive 5 last month and enjoy the slimmer profile, the awesome battery life, the accuracy of the elevation sensor for my bike rides and the super bright screen. My Vivoactive 5 is my new health coach and so far we are getting along great!

I wish the blue tooth connection was longer

I really like the Garmin Vivoactive 5. I switched from the apple watch because I prefer a round face. It does everything that I wanted in a smartwatch. I can't respond to a text or answer a call, but those things are not a deal breaker for me. I only wish the blue tooth connection reached farther. It says 10 meters....it is more like 10 feet. That is somewhat annoying. The garmin is significantly cheaper than the apple watch, too.

A loss of connection is usually due to walking away from your phone and beyond Bluetooth range which is approximately 30 feet (10 meters). The effective range is reduced when the signal has to pass through certain objects. Materials like glass, wood, metal, concrete or water can alter the signal strength of a Bluetooth connection. Interference from other wireless signals such as other Bluetooth devices, Wi-Fi, or devices running on the 2.4GHz frequency can also affect range. Your watch should automatically establish a connection when you're back near your phone and within Bluetooth range. If you have Connected Alerts enabled, you can disable them by holding the bottom-right button and selecting Settings > System > Connectivity > Phone > Connected Alerts. (KS)

Great Features

I bought my watch 2 weeks ago & has all the features that I need. I love the ease of mapping my activities & seeing my daily activities like hours slept, body battery/recovery, steps & adding my hydration. I appreciate the reminders to move! This is a very fun watch.

Great Features!

I’ve had the Vivoactive 5 for a few weeks now, and it’s truly been a game changer! It’s not only motivated me to stay active, but—more importantly—helped me prioritize getting enough sleep. I’m still discovering new features, and I love how user-friendly it is.

Indispensable

I wanted a fitness tracker since I am training for a half marathon. I tried a cheap one and got burned with a piece of junk. The Garmin is great. It's easy to operate and it's easy to find your stats. I need to learn how to setup a training schedule. I highly recommend it.

GARMIN VIVOACTIVE 5

I bought this watch a few weeks ago and am already impressed with the battery life. this watch replaced an old model Iwatch that worked as well; however the battery life was horrible! I love being able to wear the Garmin watch for days, but especially enjoy the sleep analysis which I could not do with the Apple watch because of the poor battery life that required nightly charging.

A Solid Upgrade for Battery Life and Health Tracki

I recently switched from an Apple Watch to the Garmin Vivoactive 5, primarily because I was frustrated with the short battery life of the Apple Watch. After using the Vivoactive 5 for a few weeks, I can confidently say the switch has been worth it — though not without a bit of a learning curve. What I love: Battery Life: This is hands down the biggest win. I can go several days without charging, even with regular activity tracking, sleep monitoring, and notifications turned on. It’s incredibly freeing not having to top it up every night. Sleep Tracking & Coaching: Garmin's sleep tracking is far more detailed and helpful than what I had before. The sleep coaching feature gives useful insights and suggestions that feel actionable instead of just data for data’s sake. Customization & Watch Faces: There’s a great selection of watch faces, and I appreciate how customizable the watch is overall. It feels like it can be truly tailored to your preferences and lifestyle. The trade-off: Steeper Learning Curve: With all the features and data Garmin offers, there’s definitely a learning curve. The interface and menu system aren’t always intuitive, and I’m still discovering new functions weeks later. If you're coming from a more simplified system like Apple’s, expect a bit of an adjustment period. Final Thoughts: If you're someone who prioritizes battery life, in-depth health tracking, and customization, the Garmin Vivoactive 5 is a strong contender. It’s not quite as plug-and-play as the Apple Watch, but once you get the hang of it, the benefits are absolutely worth it.

Vivoavtive 5

I bought the Vivoactive 5 about a month ago because my Vivoactive 3 died. The reason I purchased this model was for the stair counter. I spent many hours looking for the activity on the watch and googled it several times. Finally found on a Garmin owner forum that it is no longer on the watch and Garmin did not remove it from the list on the website. Needless to say, I was very disappointed. Other than the stair counter, I really like the new watch.

Good

I am 75 years old and recently changed from a Fitbit Alta HR which I mostly wore on my ankle. So far the Garmin sleep tracking is way off. Step count is 30% low. Other readings seem to be quite accurate. Connectivity is far superior to the Alta, and app runs smoothly and with no issues. Really like the outdoor walking map with the GPS but I have learned to put it on my ankle when on a treadmill, shopping, or gardening. The screen is fantastic as well as the battery life. I like being able to connect it to my laptop which is much better for me than a small screen. The Garmin is also infinitely more customizable and readable with much better information on the watch itself than I had before. All in all, once I get the sleep tracking and step count accuracy improved , this will be a substantial improvement to what I have had in the past. I would make the switch again!

Hey, there! If you're having trouble getting accurate sleep tracking from your Vivoactive 5, I recommend checking the tips linked below to ensure that you're meeting the requirements to get advanced sleep monitoring: http://ms.spr.ly/6425sK32D As for the step count, it sounds like you've got a pretty good idea of how to record steps while doing activities that prevent arm movement, but I'd like to ensure that you've reviewed the information in this FAQ just to be thorough: http://ms.spr.ly/6427sK321 If you still need assistance after reading through those tips, please call Garmin Support at 800-800-1020 to speak with an associate about these concerns. *KC

Super light weight

This watch is perfect for someone who likes to track their health. Every morning it tells me my sleep score and how I slept. When I am stressed it gives me tips on when to rest. The best feature so far is the battery lasts 11 days before I need to charge it! The only thing I miss about my apple watch is the ring feature when I lose my phone but definitely doesn't make me love it any less
