Very disappointed in my vivoactive 5

The first week I had the device, the battery lasted about 5 days. NOW, I need to recharge it every 24 hours. It is not reasonable and very disappointing. I like the feature of the sleep assessment, so I have to charge in the morning and it is not fully charged before I leave for work.

Love the vivid active

I have had this watch for a little over 2 weeks, and I am so impressed with it!! It has a great display and I love the touchscreen feature! I have also really enjoyed the morning wake up feature where it goes over my sleep and the weather for the day!!

Battery drains

I received this as a gift. I take it off the charger in the Am, and by the end of day it’s at 20% battery. Put it on low battery mode, but then don’t get notifications. My daughter likes to check her sleep on hers but I don’t feel like I can sleep in it or I don’t have battery for the next day.

Verified Purchase

DO NOT RECOMMEND

I've the 3 weeks i wore this, i experienced more stress than normal because of the watch. would not stay connected, wouldn't keep track of steps, every other day having to pair again to phone, turn devices on and off, try all steps they list to troubleshoot. i bought this to hold myself accountable to walking and being active and to track sleep. disappointed on days i worked hard to find out watch was not keeping track for me. trying to fix situations led to stress. watch said i had some level of stress every minute it was working. nights i know i was dreaming, watch said no rem sleep

Great Activity Tracker

This tracker does what I want to to do. One exception is the sleep tracker. It is too sensitive to movement! If I am not conscience of being awake...why does it say I am awake? I normally am sound asleep with in 10 minutes of lying down. I am asleep about 9:30 every night and wake up about 5 or 5:30. Once or twice a month (like last night) I was asleep about 9:35pm, woke up at 5:30am, my watch said I went to sleep at 12:31am, was awake for 1 hr 6 min. For a 3 hr 53 min of sleep. This is depressing! I am an active 78 year old and will not be tired today because I had a good nights sleep which the watch did not record properly.

Sleep tracking can stop, or miss times if your watch detects enough movement. If there is enough movement or your heart rate is elevated the watch may not see that you are asleep. In these instances you can edit your sleep time within Garmin Connect: support.garmin.com/en-US/?faq=qvpxqWtnKfAu2SOmRRhrY6&productID=894039&searchQuery=sleep%20tracking%20&tab=topics&textPage=1

Ordered two, both failed in less than five days

User interface is not intuitive. Many steps to set up- like two hours to get things dialed in including four different resets. I bought two - one for my wife and one for me. After the amount of time I put into mine I returned my wife's unopened to the store. Figured I would struggle through for a few days, but now the watch face is static, even though there are multiple faces available. Found out in forums this is a known problem to Garmin. They old UI was pretty good from what I've read, but they moved a lot of functionality out of the app and onto the watch face (workout routine set up, tracking, watch faces, etc.) and this has been a disaster. I've got a third email into Garmin now, but will likely return this last one today and just be done with it. I hope others have better luck.

Not Water Resistant

I have had 2 Garmins. Venu 2 & Vivoactive 5. Both say they are water resistant. They had the swimming meter on them. Both quit working after about a year & a half. I swam in 3 ft of water 3 or 4 times a month (Jun-Sept). It is a shame, I really liked both watches. The water is the only thing I can think of that made them stop working.

Not great

I've owned a few Garmin watches and this one has been the worst. With only 2 lasers on the back it often times won't track, well anything. It's pretty and smaller, which is great, but definitely needs to have the 4 lasers like all of my other watches.

Good, but...

Had watch for a month, still haven't tried all features. Wish it had altimeter. I was 69% complete on climbing Mt McKinley on Garmin app, but this watch doesn't track stairs. I wouldn't have bought if I had known. I only purchased because my vivoactive 4 band broke and you cant replace the band. Sleeping with the bigger face is bothersome as well.

Great GPS Good Apps

I moved from a Fitbit to the Garmin VA5. I do like it, but even after a yr I'm still swiping when I should be pushing a button. The Fitbit was much more user friendly. Easy swipes then taps. Easy pause taps during exercise. This watch still has a way to go to simply things. It should be the way of the our phones, easy taps and swipes.
