What happened? I was so looking forward to my can of beef stew in a recent camping trip. Dingy Moore has been a camping staple for atleast 3 generations in family but I have to sadly say won't be any longer. If you go back to the amazing beef chunks and recipe we will be back but until then..I'm sorry to have to say goodbye :(

The ingredients were outstanding. The gravy with this was just right. It didn't have any unexpected ingredients; my husband even had some and liked it; especially since it didn't have anything "green" or "onions" which he detests! I will definitely buy this as a healthy, nourishing quick fix for lunch or dinner.

My son and I [I'm 77] ate Dinty Moore Beef Stew all the time. This was some years ago. One day, recently, I bought a large can of stew and found that it did not taste the same. It seems to have a taste like liquid smoke was added. My son lives 2,000 miles from me. I gave him a call and asked if he tried the stew recently. He said that he had some and it is not the same. I thought that it was just me. Now I am convinced that the recipe has been changed. Why did you do that? Why mess with a good thing. I can't eat it now because the stew is not like it used to be.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This brought back so many great memories, growing up we always got a can or two or three each week, and the flavor, texture and taste has not changed one bit, it was like going home once again, thank you for letting me sample this item, I have got it on my grocery list and will open a can up through out this fall and winter to enjoy beef stew once again.

I used to eat beef stew all the time when I was growing up. Even still got it every week or two as an adult. I few years back they changed the recipe (for some reason) and introduced small pieces of beef or ground beef in the mix and changed the gravy that was in there and the type of beef that was in there too. I'm not sure why they changed it but ever since then I have been on a search for another beef stew to purchase. If they decide to bring back the "Classic" recipe (like Chef Boy Ar Dee did with their recent throwback recipe) then I would buy it again in a heartbeat. Until then, the search continues....

You do not need a can open get, easy open top. The flavor is pretty tasty. It does not taste like home made, but it's pretty decent and really fast and convenient. There are good sized chunks of vegetables and meat and the gravy is a good consistency. Its adequate but not fantastic.

One of few products from my childhood that hasn't changed in a negative way. We usually eat the stew on soccer nights when we need something quick and filling that the kids enjoy, but sometimes I grab a can for lunch too. Never disappoints.

I've been eating Dinty Moore Beef Stew for decades. I noticed a few years back, they changed the recipe and have struggled to buy any more. At first I thought I got a bad can so threw it out, but each can after that was the same. This may be gross to health nuts, but when there was no lard on the lid, I knew something was afoul. Anyway, wish they would revert back to the original recipe, but think I just ate my last can of it. So sad.
