Just Right For Our Need

This safe is exactly what we needed. My only complaint is that the programming instructions are a bit vague and the print is very small to read while setting it up. After several tries, I figured it out and then it was easy to finish the setup. My suggestion is to lift the door off the hinge pins and lay it flat on a table to do the programming. This only takes a minute and saves a lot of time and kneeling on the floor. It is a very good product.

Does the job but be aware

This safe does the job well but be aware, an 8x10 envelope has a hard time dropping into the safe because of the anti-fishing/theft part of the drawer is angled in the back of the drawer. We are using this for our PTA fundraisers and we have to have the teachers fold and rubber band the envelopes. Other than that, it is great!

Defective Product

Received the safe with the initial passcode to get in. The light would turn green, but the handle would not turn to open the safe. After 20 minutes on hold with SentrySafe customer service, they said they wouldn't even talk to us until we replaced the batteries. So, we went to the store, replaced the batteries and still the same thing. Called SentrySafe customer service and held again for 20 minutes with the end result "you'll have to call sams club". Upon further inspection, the safe looked as if it had once been owned by someone else, so it was probably returned as defective and instead of returning it to the manufacturer, I'm pretty sure they shipped it to another customer. Lucky me. Sams was quick to ship another safe, but if you have to deal with SentrySafe directly, it will be a miserable experience!!!

I've done everything the instructions say to do, but when I type in the code, only every once in a long while does it actually let me lock or unlock the safe.

Sentry Safe Not Customer Friendly

This product did not work out of the box. I contacted SentrySafe and they recommended that I buy new batteries (the product comes with batteries but, according to SentrySafe, they may have sat in the warehouse too long). I purchased new batteries and the safe still did not work. I contacted SentrySafe who advised that the problem was that I had purchased mere Walgreens batteries and not name brand batteries (Energizer or Duracell). I pointed out to them that the batteries included with the product were not name brand, and SentrySafe could not explain why they had included batteries as part of the package knowing those batteries would not work. I returned the product, thankfully I had purchased at Sam's so it was not a problem to return. As an aside: I did purchase Energizer batteries and the product (unsurprisingly) still did not work.
