[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was a little skeptical when I started using this tape. Yes, you are able to find the tape end easier, as advertised. But when you start the tape, it FLIES off of the roll (see photo). It’s not necessarily a bad thing, but it feels odd when you are handling the tape. I taped up a few boxes, and the tape stays stuck. However, you can peel up any tape that’s taped over another piece of tape, thought it takes some effort to do so. The boxes stays sealed despite this concern.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Tape seems kind of flimsy compared to others and it split trying to get it started. I probably wouldn’t use this for my day to day package shipping. I thought it was tricky to get started in contradiction with the name. The holder tabs didn’t seem to hold the live tape edge well either.

I needed some packaging tape, so this product came along at exactly the right time! Unfortunately, I cannot give it a 5 star review. It was not "Sure Start", and I had to struggle to get the tape started and inserted into the dispenser. The packaging tape did unwind quiet and easy, and it was sturdy for my packages. I'd definitely recommend this product!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Finally I have found a shipping tape that does not stick to itself if it falls underneath the tab guides! No more picking with fingernails to find the lost end, only to have the product shred like other brands. Smooth and quiet unrolling, you will not have to play "tug of war" to commence dispensing. Cuts easily with a slight twist, saving fingers. I feel it has slightly less adhesive than other tapes, so be sure to apply some pressure while smoothing it out to ensure a secure seal. Thanks to 3M for providing me with a free sample so that I could share my thoughts with you!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was given a Free sample of Scotch Sure Start Packing Tape to evaluate. I am very impressed with the ease of pulling the tape through the dispenser. Our daughter is packing to move and I took this to her house to help her with boxing stuff up. Having small hands, the size of this dispenser is very easy for me to handle The tape pulls through very easily and cuts on the first try. I love the fact that it is made in the USA.

It's easy to pull and cut. The tape is nice and strong and I know it will hold up. I like to online shop so I'm constantly returning things. I need a good shipping tape to box up my returns. I always go with Scotch Shipping Tape!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] What an improvement. I think we’re all used to online ordering. However, despite our best intentions some things still need to be returned. This tape starts easy even if I miss the end. It’s a one pass wonder. No more making multiple passes to seal up the packages. The dispenser has a nice sharp blade to cut the end. So glad to have received this free product in exchange for my review.

I wanted to like this tape. Was very pleased with the thickness, the feel and it did unroll easily. HOWEVER, like most of the negative reviews, it does not stick! How can anything sticky not stick to cardboard??? Somehow this doesn't. If you are shipping anything, do not trust this tape. If you're trying to seal anything besides cardboard, like a plastic shipping tote/crate, etc..., forget about it. It will not stay on before it arrives to its destination. I have to run multiple full circumferential strips of tape to seal a cardboard box and then run strips perpendicular to tape the tape and then cross my fingers. I have taped a shipping label printed on regular paper to a shipping tote by completely covering the label and it was lost because the label came off. The only reason it was found was because of the little tag that FedEx puts on packages with pre-printed labels. Great feel and strength but just doesn't stick.
