HEY, I am sick and tired of having feet of unused tape cluttering the countertop while I try to coax your wasteful dispenser to provide me with a few inches of usable tape. Would it not be more thoughtful to have, imprinted on the tape itself, an indication of the direction the tape should be dispensed. And what's the logic behind not imprinting the silver start strip with some indication of it's orientation on the roll, i.e. LIFT THIS EDGE.... Come on, this isn't rocket science. On a scale of 0-10, how likely are you to recommend Scotch™ Brand to a friend or colleague?* 3, only because the competition is worse.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this tape from 3M but my opinion is my own. I hate wasting tape trying to find the end and getting it not to rip. There was zero problem getting this tape started and it wraps easily. Packages need one strip and they are secure. It was so easy to get back to school packages in the mail for all the kids heading off to college. Will definitely continue to buy this tape.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This tape has several improvements from previous Scotch packing tape that I've used. First, it's very easy to start using. Also, the tape doesn't split down the middle like other packing tapes sometimes do (some tapes I've used almost seem to shred when you're trying to unwind them to use). It's a good, strong packing tape without even being listed as heavy duty. I got my tape already on the dispenser and the one thing I didn't like was that it seemed like it was on the dispenser backwards. The way it was on there, the tape stuck to the cutter every time you finished using it and it seemed awkward to pull it against the cutter to get it to cut. I took the roll out of the dispenser, flipped it around so the tape was coming off the other way, put it back on it and it worked MUCH better. I would definitely buy this tape again. It's really a good quality tape.

Very easy to use with the dispenser and cutting blade, never have to find the opening and scissors again. Strong and durable tape that holds the carton in great condition when it is delivered to the customer, even when the carton is huge and heavy! We often receive compliments on our packing, and thanks to Scotch for such a great product! This is the only shipping tape that we would ever use.

I got this sample via 3M's Sample Program, but I really didn't need it, having several rolls of this already around the house. I've bought a lot of cheaper versions, but this is among the most trustworthy products I've found. The Sure Start is easy to start as advertised and even when it sits unused for a long time, the glue doesn't get sticky or the tape fragile. I've had a few boxes with this tape in storage for a year and really find it reliable.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It says easy start. Well I had a hard time at first getting the tape to lift off the first little part to start the roll. It took me 10 minutes to take my nail around it to catch to lift do that I could put it over the red part to start. Once I did that, it was better. It was easy to hold it and use one hand to seal the box.

I’ve been using Scotch tapes most of my life. This “sure start” tape is the first line I could never recommend! It sticks to paper just fine and is very easy to pull off the roll- BUT it does NOT stick to itself! Any slight bump or roll over will pull off all tape that has been taped to another piece of tape. I purchase approximately ten 6 packs per year. This “sure start” is cheaper but is also CHEAP- JUNK. Buy only the red or blue rolls. Heavy Duty is the best!!!

What i really liked and appreciated was the cutting edge on the dispenser. It cut straight and it cut straight every single time I used it. The tape is fairly thick, it never split on me or tore. The roll was extremely easy to stsrt unlike some others I've tried in the past.

I used it this tape early this morning to prepare a box for shipping and was pleasantly surprized to find that I did not wake up my whole family. Usually tape makes a very distinctive noise and this one is silent! As usual, it is a 3M sticky product and it works just like it should, nice and sticky. Dispenser was a little confusing at first, but once I used it, it made perfect sense. Another great Scotch 3M product
