Paper tape does not stick.

I purchased a LetraTag printer roughly a month ago with white paper label tape. Labels begin to peel almost as soon as applied. I am now applying invisible tape over the labels to keep them in place. I will try the plastic labels in the hope that they stick. Otherwise, I will be looking for a labeler with better adhesive tapes.

Labels don't stay stuck!

Very limited use case. The adhesive on the back of the labels does not stick particularly well to most surfaces. Metal, glass, and plastic all seem to give it trouble, which really narrows down what you can actually label. I find sticking it to paper or cardboard surfaces works best—so, stuff you could already just write directly on. There's a lot of options for a simple label maker that would make it a really versatile device, if it weren't so mechanically limited. It's nice that there are many text options and even punctuation and symbols to choose from, but it'd be nicer if the tape stayed stuck. I imagine bit of clear tape over the label would help, but again, if I'm already putting tape down on things, why not just write my labels directly on the tape? Unfortunately this device can only be as good as the materials provided, and those materials are disappointing.

One of my best purchases ever

I had considered buying a different labeler elsewhere, until several negative reviews made me think better of it. I originally wanted it for kitchen use, and thought of it as something that would be nice, but not necessary. When I saw this different one, which has a QWERTY keyboard so that I don't have to look for things, I decided to purchase it for the kitchen. In addition to the QWERTY keyboard, it is well-designed, with label cartridges easy to pop in and out when you need to change label type. It does go through batteries, though, so I recommend rechargeable AA's, as it takes four of them. (I bought a charger and a couple of packs of the AA's with a camera recently and am truly glad that I did. It is much easier to store one small charger and batteries than enough batteries to power everything that takes them.) Be sure and get the type of batteries intended for high-intensity use, not the type intended for infrequent use (such as the eneloops), which hold a charge for a long time but which will not last long in a device of this type. Then, when I was drafting a sewing pattern, I realized that it was the perfect solution to the problem I had of forgetting what a given pattern piece was when a bit of time passed between bouts of working on something. (I also draft variations to commercial patterns, and sometimes forget which pattern the variation belongs to.) Now I can print out multiple copies of the pattern name, variation name, piece name, number of copies to be cut, and any other instructions (cut on fold, cut on true bias, etc.). I print double the number of pattern and variation/piece name labels, because I label the reverse after it is folded the way it will be in the storage bag. That way, I do not have to unfold all the pieces looking for a particular one. I can label the storage bag, too, as well as the bag holding cut pieces, partially completed items, and notions. I still use it in my kitchen, but the sewing room uses are still tops. (I also plan to start labeling the baggies holding extra hardware that comes with "assembly required" projects.) This has turned out to be a very useful gadget for me, actually solving several common problems I face instead of just producing something that is more aesthetically pleasing than handwritten labels. It comes with one paper label cartridge and one clear plastic cartridge. I have not used up either one, despite printing out many labels.

Great product; many uses; easy to use

Have been using this item for several years, and I have yet to find anything more useful or versatile. As others have said, it's easy to load into the machine, the printing is clear with no smudging, and it does adhere well [in some uses, I do use clear tape over it to hold it better]. Couldn't ask for more -- except to echo one previous reviewer as to a bulk pack.

The tape works perfectly as price tags on our boxes in our business. Can’t complain at all.

Adhesive quality is poor.

I bought a Dymo Letratag label maker a month ago. The paper labels stink. Almost every label created to date has curled up and does not hold to item labeled. Very disappointed.

Poor adhesion, labels don't stay on

I have used the labels on multiple surfaces such as spray bottles, plastic totes, electronic chargers, etc and the adhesive is not very strong. All of the labels have started to peel off, even on surfaces that don't see much activity.

Best on line deal of the year.

I was surprised that these were a lot more inexpensive on line then what they charge in the store.... Due to that fact I ordered several of these and they should last me a while. I use them at work and they are great.

Very good product!

JRW911 is right. It's a super easy product to use. Just type, print, peel and stick! Doesn't get much easier than that. I use this product to label my customer's tennis racquets after stringing them.
