i was able to get out and use my new simpson Powershot PS3228-s and it performs great. The Honda motor was easy to start, the pressure was constant throughout. i could tell it had constant 3300 psi where my old troybuilt was 3300 psi peak power and you could tell that the power would decrease during use. If you are in the market for a pressure washer, this fits the bill.

This power washer was a great pay-off for all the research I did....solid performance, great components. The combination of the GX series Honda motor and the pro-qualtiy pump make this a purchase I will only have to make once. It sets up quickly, works well, is manuverable and compact. Great pride of ownership and a huge savings over other comperable washers.

The build quality is solid — this thing feels like it’s made to last. The engine starts easily and runs smoothly, and the rugged frame makes it easy to move around the yard. It’s clear this wasn’t designed just for light weekend use, but for real heavy-duty work.

Very powerful and customer service of simpson was great I am glad to buy from sam's and had no issues with it yet and I have washed every where and used it more than 5 times better than my friends 3000 honda much better,if you need one this is it.ty sam's

From the second I unboxed this machine I knew it was going to be phenomenal. It’s a beautiful piece of equipment and it performs just as beautifully. I purchased this for my power washing business and it constantly outperforms its price tag. Stop looking and just buy it already.

This is my first pressure washer, first time i have ever used one. Instructions were easy to follow and had it up and running in no time. I cleaned a 30yd long asphalt driveway and a fair sized mold stained patio deck the first weekend with no problems. The delivery i thought was very quick. I was looking for something with a Honda engine and a triplex pump and this the best price i could find.

Bought this pressure washer at a local Sam's club. This is a professional model with lots of power and features and should be dependable. I used today for about 6 hours straight with no problems. The reason I gave it 4 stars is the quality of the pressure hose and gun. I can guarantee that no professional would use this washer with the provided gun/hose. When I opened the box and pulled out the gun and hose I was so disappointed I almost returned it. But I knew this was a good washer so the next day I went to a local hardware store to get a gun/hose worthy of the washer's quality. I did use the provided wand though. One other minor issue is the the nozzle holder. Even though it looks good when not in use the nozzles fall out as soon as you start the machine. It is an embarrassing design flaw but doesn't affect the performance of the machine. I just put the nozzles in my pocket when using it and in a plastic bag when storing.

I purchase two of these units with one eventually will be given to my sister. I am going to try to write the review and rate each major components of the pressure washer as I always find it useful when reading other reviews in this format. I am not a pressure washer pro, the review is based on my two units that I purchased and looking at other reviews as well as other reviewer's comments. Price: I thought the price for the unit is excellent. Both Amazon and Sam's Club sell for $499. Although I am not sure why the model number sold by Sam's Club is PS3228-S vs regular PS3228 sold by amazon and other stores. Many other stores sells the unit for about $750. An email to Simpson regarding the two model version was never answered. I give the PS3228 a five star for price. Engine: The engine is a Honda GX200. I think its the entry level commercial engine. The spark plug on each of the two units I purchase is different. One is a Denso and the other one is a NGK. Both are equally good in my opinion and a Japanese spark plug in a Japanese engine makes much sense to me. As the mechanic "ETCG" on youtube said "the Engineers design the whole engine around the spark plug". There are two more small differences on my two unit with regard to the engine. on the top of the fuel tank there are two wide grooves or indentations. One of my unit the groove faces the left wheel while the other unit it faces the front of the engine. The other variance is the knob for the air filter, one is metal and the other one is hard plastic. These variances is also visible when I looked at the pictures of the GX200 on the Honda small engine website. I give the engine five star and is also mainly the reason I purchase the units. Internet research showed the Retail price of the Honda GX200 engine alone is about $350 to $450 with shipping. Tractor Supply sells it for $440. I give the engine five stars simply its a Honda. Frame: The frame is very nice. Feels sturdy and strong. I am 5'9" and its about the right height for me. I think for someone 6' or taller may find the unit low. However this can be fixed by adding couple pipes to the vertical handle. Many people complained the nozzles pops out of their holders when the engine is running. I personally did not experience this but if it did, It would not be much of a problem. Just put it in the plastic bag or something. I gave the frame four stars due to other many reviews regarding the nozzle coming out of the holders. Pump: This is the component that I find why the unit sold for $499. The pump is a AAA "Industrial triplex with powerboost" which I do not know what that means but all I know are the following facts. It is my understanding that "CAT" or "GENERAL" makes the best pressure washer pumps. I did an online research and found the CAT pump that is compatible with the GX200 sells for about $350 retail. So one can do the math. One website listed the AAA pump for about $226. As other as mentioned, The oil filled at factory in the pump is low. The owners manual says the oil level should be at the center of the pump "window". I had to add two more oz to each of the pumps on both units to get the oil level to be at the center of the pump "window". The Owner's manual indicated the pump oil capacity is 6.5 oz but the label on the pump itself indicates 8 oz. I wonder if this is why there was a 2 oz short. If 6.5 oz is correct capacity then why did the owner's manual said the oil level should be at the middle of the pump window then it would take 8oz? so which one is right? 8oz or 6.5 oz? The other thing that I dislike about the pump is that it indicated to use 15W-40 oil. This grade of pump oil can not be found anywhere at HD or Lowes or any local hardware stores near me. Whats interesting is the Dewalt owner's manual for the DXPW3228 which is the same pressure washer as the PS3228 indicated nothing about 15W-40 but You can use any pump oil or a non-detergent 30W oil. The pump on the Dewalt model is the same as the PS3228 and the label on the pump for the Dewalt indicated to use 15W-40 so another controversy(I actually went to Home Depot and physically looked at the Dewalt unit and the pump). I finally found out the pump oil that goes with this pump is the Karcher 15W-40 part number 6.288-050.0 which is not sold anywhere near me. The retail price plus shipping is about $20 per liter online for this oil. One bottle of this oil can probably last 4 oil changes. For many of us, one or two bottle is probably all is needed for the life of the pump. I gave the pump a two stars simply because I know its the not the best pump in the market and the 15W-40 oil plus the contradiction on the owner's manual resulted for the two stars. If its not for the price of the unit at which I got it for, I would rate the pump a one star. Hose and Wand: The hose is 25 feet. I find this is sufficient for me but many complained that the quality is not that good and too short. The wand is ok in my opinion. The hose connectors are not "quick" connectors. But to me, its not a big deal. I rate the hose and wand four stars based on other reviews and my personal opinion. Other Thoughts: The unit came with a bottle of engine oil. Both of my units had residual gas in the fuel tank as well as residual oil in the engine. This is due to the manufacturer testing the units. You can due a search online for Dewalt machine and there is short video on "how the pressure washers are made" which did showed the manufacturer tested the units before its ready for sale. Overall its a good unit and I am just not sure how long the pump will last. As a reviewer of the Dewalt unit mentioned that the engine will outlast the pump for sure. Simpson's Customer service and warranty services from what I gather reading of other reviews is that its poor.

Assembled unit in minutes. Filled motor with oil provided and gas and it started on the first pull. The Honda engine on this unit has plenty of power for the pump that comes factory filled with oil. The 3200 psi realy did a nice job on cleaning my wood deck that was dark gray and made it look almost new again. I looked on-line at several wb-sites and this unit sold for $749 to $799. $499 at Sam's plus tax and only $13.50 to ship.

This is the second one that we bought this year the first had oil leaking out between the motor and the pump. Which I assume that it was pump oil. But ran fine. This one did better starting first pull. Even tho everything was followed in the starting process guide. This time it was leaking water out of one of the seals for the pump cylinders. Overall they are good just need better quality control.
