I purchased this unit for my home needs: driveway/patio cleaning, brick siding, deck cleaning etc. This thing is a powerhouse! Assembly was easy and starting is almost a breeze. The PSI and GPM may seem to be a bit much for residential use, but I was concerned more with time in getting a job done. Definitely quicker than a smaller unit and variance in price. Very happy with purchase.

I purchased this machine about a week ago to replace my Karcher 2400 psi pressure washer. I have only used it for two days so far, washing my home in preparation for painting. It starts very easily, and compared to my old machine, has PLENTY of power. It cleaned the siding very well, and stripped some of the old paint off in several places, but by being relatively careful, it didn't gouge the wood. I purchased an extra 50' hose for it, as the 25' that comes with it is a little too short. I ran all 75', plus my 20' extendable wand, but saw no discernable line loss in pressure. So far I'm highly satisfied. I'd highly recommend this model. Hopefully I'll have this unit for the rest of my life, as it is only intended for limited use at my home.

The unit has great power. The specs indicate the unit has pneumatic tires. It has solid tires which adds to its inability to absorb its own vibrations and “walks” across pavement. I plan to take this up with Simpson and HD. Vibration isolation pads or mounts should be incorporated into this design.

I have now used it twice. The first time I went to start it, I had a little trouble but I think I may have had the choke in the wrong position. The second it started with one pull! This is a great machine and I am happy I replace my old Karcher, although it served me well. The only thing negative I can say, which is why it gets only 4 stars, is the spray tips will not stay in their holders on the handle. The design is too loose and the vibration of the machine causes them to fall out very shortly after starting up. To avoid losing one, I take them out and put them all in my pocket before I start it now. Simpson needs to make the grommets tighter. Otherwise, very good washer.

I originally bought a less powerful model from another manufacturer. I wasn't pleased and set out to get a better power washer for my home. I checked many models, features, and cost. The Simpson PS4240 is the bomb -- by far the best product and cost. Has the power to do any job and the durability to last a long time.

More power than I need, had a hard time holding wand from recoil... take the crome off a trailer hitch!!! had to turn down the volume on this one pressure is off the hook! Great machine, no issues yet. Works like a champ! Very pleased and would recommend this unit to all...

I bought this unit after reading positive reviews and its compact design was also a selling point. I have used it four times so far and I am satisfied with the purchase. The Honda engine is easy to start and this model has power. The throttle on this unit can be adjusted to suit the need of the project. The extension wand was too short for comfort so a replacement was bought after the first use on the concrete driveway. Overall, I am a satisfied customer of this unit.

I choose the 4240H because of the Honda GX390 motor and this unit can handle a 20 inch BE surface cleaner. My spouse wanted to use it to clean our brick house. Well, it's a bit to powerful for her 110 lb frame. The "kickback" when she pulls the trigger almost knocks her over, but she has learned to handle it. I recommend you buy from a local store because mine had a few dents from the UPS guys. You may have to pay an extra$20.

Worth spending more to get a commercial grade pump and honda engine. This unit should last a very long time assuming you take good care with it. I wanted at least a 4gpm pump so i can clean faster. One thing to keep in mind is to turn off motor if not spraying for more than 1 minute. This will greatly add longevity to your pump life.

I just used this washer for the first time through the weekend. It started on the second pull the first time and on the first pull every other time. My last pressure washer was a 3200psi and it didn't compare to this one. Very strong running motor and a great pump. I've only used it for one weekend so far but if it keeps performing like it has, I'll be 100% satisfied with my decision to spend a little extra on this one. I've read many bad reviews on this washer but all I can figure is that those people didn't read all of the do's and don't s in the instructions before operating. I learned a lot about pressure washers just by doing the required reading before touching the unit. If you follow the requirements, you'll be very happy with this unit.
