- 5 out of 5 stars review3/24/2021No, you are not seeing double, the old one of 5+ years looks nearly as good as the new replacement. I have really enjoyed the color, the style, the look thru window of this solid toaster. It had toasted consistently for 5 years until the recent loss of the back coil rod. I like the wide long single slot feature. So, I searched it out and to my delight, it is still made. Oops, I was hoping to add my side by side photo.

The long slot (for artisinal breads), the view window, the clearly defined stages of browning (although this varies by type of bread, so be conservative (lower browning temp) until you know how the bread browning varies. We also like the reheat option for just a shade more color or because we got distracted and now the toast is cold. What is in dire need to change are 2 things:1. when the toast is finished and the machine pops it to the top, it is so forceful the some breads are actually launched OUT OF THE TOASTER, so make sure you have this on a counter or you will find your toast on the floor.2. the metal strip that holds the bread is insufficient for many breads - especially delicate bre...

I just wanted a toaster that could toast - a reasonable request I thought but oh so elusive. Tried the Dash Clear View because of its style, colour, side control buttons, but mainly because of different technology (instead of rows of thin wire heating elements used in most other toasters, this uses heating tubes). I'm happy to say that the Dash Clear View toasts very well. It has a helpful user manual, it looks good, stays cool on the outside, but most of all.....it can toast.
