Hydrolyzed proteins is used as a flavor enhancer in food industries. It is a precursor to produce MSG. The chemical breakdown of hydrolyzed protein releases glutamic acid, which combines with sodium to form MSG. Since hydrolyzed protein is used in the preparation, the MSG is not listed in the ingredients on labels, even though these additives produce MSG. The adverse effects of hydrolyzed protein include anxiety, asthma, attention deficit syndrome, bloating, burning sensations, carpel tunnel syndrome, chest pains, depression, diarrhea, confusion, dizziness, drowsiness, infertility, insomnia, and heart diseases (Scopp, 1991).

Thought I'd try these for a cookout. What could be,not to like about an all beef 1/4 lb dog? I took one bite and found out immediately. They are extremely salty. I returned 11 of the 12 count pkg. Very disappointed. I've been looking for a good dog/frank for some time. This is NOT it!

I’ve been a hot dog freak my whole life ( I’m 73). A friend was with me when I stopped at Sam’s and he had me purchase these. I wasn’t expecting much. Shock. These are now GO TO dog. Excellent flavor, great bite. I do recommend using a heavier bun like a pretzel bun or brioche. The every day buns just can’t hold up. Again, this is an excellent product.

These are supposed to be the same franks Sam's uses in their food court, so I expected that flavor/texture. However, grilling or air frying these dogs make them far superior to their boiled cousins at Sam's. The hot dog lovers in my family really enjoyed these.

A highlight to visiting Sam’s Club has always included the delicious hot dog. You can make it at home! These quarter pound beef franks are so easy to make and can be placed, frozen, in a microwave, and cooked to perfection. Add your own toppings and enjoy!

These are the hot dogs that they serve at the Sams concession stand and they are just as delicious at home - especially on the grill. They are pretty big so sometimes the little kiddos actually cut it in half and they are also really tasty in good ol' "beans n franks" that are also a fan favorite in my house.

I took a chance and purchased these (because they were so huge) instead of my usual favorite name brand beef ones. Sooo glad I did! These beef hotdogs did not disappoint and surpassed my family’s expectations. They are juicy and delicious whether boiled or grilled! This is by far the new “wiener” (winner) in my house when it comes to hotdogs. I will be buying these again and again. Bon appétit!
