From Firm to Extra Firm

Extra firm is correct and that is what we wanted after a firm mattress not providing good support after a couple years. Of course, we will have to wait and see how it holds up. The construction says more support in the middle and that is what I need. For comfort we have a basic bed topper and heavy matters cover with some softness. That has worked well for both a heavier and lighter weight person. Great side support and solid construction.

Excellent high quality firm mattress

I bought this after trying another mattress which said firm but was not firm. Me and my wife are extremely happy with this mattress. It provides great support, does not sink in and is firm. It also has small cushioning kind of top which does not make it feel like a rock. Definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a good FIRM mattress.

Very firm

Still trying to get used to this extra firm mattress. My husband is happy with this purchase, however, I am the one with more back and neck issues and wanted to get rid of our other mattress, that was just over 3 years old. It was one of the memory foam kind, and was great for about 6 months, but then my back issues got way worse than they ever had. The mattress at that point wasn't supportive enough. Anyway, we didn't go anywhere to test the Beautyrest Silver Charcoal Coast Extra Firm King Mattress...I just placed the order, because I knew I needed the support...but now it's almost too hard. My mistake in not trying to locate one and try it out first, and now we are stuck with it. Like I said, my husband is happy with it, even though he said he still gets hot at night, but not like with the other mattress. We may eventually get a memory foam topper for this bed for my benefit. I hope that it holds up longer than the last one did of only 6 months before we were ready to throw it out.

Comfortable

Comfortable mattress, good value. Have in our guest bedroom Would have given it 5 stars but about a week after it was delivered when we went to make the bed, we noticed there is a 4” portion where it missed being sewn together on the underside of the mattress at the seam. Quality control should have caught that.

Lasts 3-4 years

This mattress was great—until it wasn't. About 3 years in, it started to noticeably have sagging on both sides. By year 4, it was completely done. The back pain is excruciating. Disappointing for a mattress that was sold as lasting 10 years.

Horrible Customer Service

I will never order from Sam's online again. We received a defective mattress and have spent hours over several days trying to connect with Sam's Online Customer Service to get the issue resolved. We are asked for our phone number and promised to be called back if we get disconnected. We NEVER get called back and always just sit on hold forever and never get reconnected Each new person we talk to has a different story of what is happening with our case. We were told at one time that a new mattress was being shipped - not true. Another time we were told that the old mattress was going to be picked up - not true. We finally had to contact Beautyrest and they are sending us an email with information on how to send pictures and request a replacement (something the first 3 people we talked to at Customer Service promised to do but never did). Update: It has been over a month and we still have not received a replacement mattress. We have scheduled a delivery twice and both times we got a notice of cancellation a few days prior because the product had not been delivered from the warehouse. It has been a nightmare experience.

Horrible Mattress Set, Poor Customer Service

Worst mattress set that I have ever purchased in my life! It felt a bit harder than I anticipated but my husband liked it for his back. We took delivery of the set in early July 2023 and by early December my husband said his side of the bed was causing him back pain. I too felt some discomfort by February. So we turned the mattress and believe me this was no small feat for to seniors in their 70’s. By March, we were awaking with serious backaches. We noticed that the mattress was sagging on the edges! I called Beautyrest customer service to explain our dilemma. We were told by the representative to take a picture of the mattress, which was reasonable. We were instructed to then remove the mattress and take a picture of the box spring, AND remove the box spring take a picture of our bed frame! I responded that this was near impossible for us septuagenarians to accomplish. The reps responded that this was the only way they would be able to address our problems with the mattress set. We have still not be able to find help removing each piece to take pictures. We have literally suffered for almost a year with this set. It has brought me to tears because my husband and I have daily backaches that go away only after we take pain pills. We are once again, currently trying to find two young men who will charge us an affordable amount to help us moving each piece to take pictures. So disappointed with this expensive purchase

Mattress good so far but delivery HORRIBLE.

Mattress seems to be good but the delivery experience was HORRIBLE. It took several weeks for it to be delivered after purchase, which is fine. We had the “white glove” delivery which was supposed to include bringing in and setup. We received notification of delivery date and timeframe along with instructions on how we needed to be ready for setup which we agreed via text and email. We received confirmation again the day before scheduled delivery and were ready to receive delivery the next day as notified. Approximately 1130 pm, the night before our delivery, we receive alerts on our security cam and hear a large truck driving away. We look outside (it’s raining) and the mattress was left propped up against our garage door. There was no knock on our door and doorbell wasn’t pushed. If we didn’t know that, it would have likely caused damage to our garage door if we had opened it unknowingly. We have the delivery saved on our security cameras. We were able to pull it inside ourselves but this would have been a rough situation for someone that is elderly or disabled. We notified Sam’s Club the next day and was told we would be “compensated” for the inconvenience. It’s been over a month and still nothing. We call to follow up and Sams Club indicates the the delivery company will compensate and when we speak to the delivery company “RXO” we’re told that sams club will compensate. At this point, we realize nothing is going to happen. It may be a great mattress but until Sams gets a new delivery service, I would definitely avoid purchasing from them unless you enjoy a runaround which includes your new mattress being left outside at night, in the rain.

Was comfortable the first 6 months

Looks good and comfortable but after 6 months, we began to feel a depression in the mattress where we each slept. After 9 months a depression where we slept was noticeable and we could feel a ridge in the middle of the mattress that is now even more pronounced after 1 year. It was comfortable the first 6 months, but after the depressions were we slept and the ridge formed, it became less comfortable. The ridge in the middle makes it difficult to sleep near the center of the bed. We are not heavy in weight, or overweight, and that makes us wonder if the material used in the mattress is very good material. We would not purchase again nor can we recommend this mattress or the material used to make it. The original coil mattress we had originally lasted over 30 years and was very comfortable until a spring broke. This mattress did not last one year.
