Weird flavor

The cake itself was moist and it was beautiful! Writing was perfect. But the icing just tasted.. off. Like there was maybe almond extract? But not almond. I honestly cannot put my finger on what this flavor is. But it made the cake really unenjoyable. & I am not picky. Have you ever seen a kid leave a big piece of cake practically untouched? Sad. Luckily the cake was only like $18, but still a huge bummer.
