My husband wanted to replace his previous generation Braun (grew tired of replacing the blades and the cleaner stopped working as well). This one was a disappointment though. Took too many passes for a smooth shave and now there's no built-in trimmer! He hates all of the attachments. We returned it and replaced it with his first Philips Norelco electric shaver. MUCH closer, smoother shave AND it has the built-in trimmer. Sorry, Braun; never going back...and this after my husband had had 3 generations of Braun electric shavers.

I have sensitive skin and experience irritation with a lot if electric razors but I never experienced any with this shaver. It does not create as close of a shave as a manual razor. The shaver kept it's charge for quite a while after it was charged. Overall I like this shaver but do miss the closeness that a regular razor gives.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Some 20+ years ago I used a rotary electric razor and hated the experience. It always ripped my stubble and and it hurt! I have been using regular razors since and never looked back...until now. Using this new Braun Shaver 7020s Solo Silver over a few weeks has changed the way I shave for the better. It's less messy, and even though I have sensitive skin, it does the job very well without irritation. I only have to shave every 2-3 days as my beard grows a bit slower, and it doesn't bother me to have some stubble growth, so I had gotten to the point to where I only used a trimmer to 'shave' so I didn't have to use a blade and shaving cream. Now I can use this without having to worry about cuts and razor burn. The shaver feels nice in the hand, and is easy to hold on to without slipping. It does a good job of staying in contact with the skin on mostly all angles with the 360 degree adaptive system. So far, with a few weeks of shaving, I still haven't had to recharge it yet. Great battery life! The only cons I have here are the cleaning. It's a bit tedious, and this doesn't come with the cleaning unit. I do appreciate the hard travel case as I do travel frequently.

It's a real life upgrade from stone age razors. I would have liked longer toothed clipper heads for trimming. The one included worked so well!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] After trying the Braun 7020s for a good two weeks, here are my thoughts. Pros: - Very close shave, especially if you shave on a regular or daily basis. - Glides well along the contours of the face. - Decent carrying/protective zipper case. Simple and not bulky and this is better than the old all-day plastic carrying case for my old Braun shaver that split in half and needs to be held together with a rubber band. - Holds a charge well. After two weeks of daily use, the charge is still strong. Of course the key is how the charge will hold up after more time but that can't be determined after two weeks of use. - Helpful to see the charge level. My old shaver doesn't have this feature. - Comes with a mini cleaning brush and a trimmer. Cons: - Biggest complaint is that it doesn't do a good job holding the shavings inside. I used the shaver after purposefully not shaving for a few days to see what shaving with a mini stubble will be like. While shaving, I felt something on my arms and it turns out that they were shavings. I've had to more deliberately lean over the sink so the shavings wouldn't drop on my clothes. My very old (maybe 10 years old?) Braun shaver does a better job of holding shavings than the 7020s. - Not as good for stray hairs, but that can be said of most electric razors. - Angled areas like the chin is more difficult if you have a stubble. - Fairly basic with just an on/off mode. Cleaning brush is kinda small (portable but easy to lose) but does an okay job of cleaning the insides. Trimmer is okay too but not something I'd find myself relying on too much. At the end of the day, I would recommend this shaver to people who shave on a regular/daily basis. If you shave periodically, the shavings coming out can become annoying but I think for daily users who have little to shave, that annoyance might be minimized, especially if you clean the shaver every few days. The charge holds well and it shaves closely.

I bought this back in December and I hate this razor. First of all there are now written instructions, only illustrations, that I find confusing. Braun does not even have written instructions for this razor at their website. If you have been using a braun razor previously, the illustrations may be fine, but they don't work for me. Seriously how much are they saving by not having written instructions, maybe .50 per unit. Second is that this razor does not perform very well, the closeness of the shave is lacking, I didn't expect it to be as close as a blade, but this just does not get it. You have to go over and over your face to get it to cut all the hair, in the end the whole process takes longer than with a blade. It also does a terrible job on your neck. I assume because of the lack of bone structure in the neck area, when you put pressure on the razor the neck also compresses. To get a decent shave I end of spending about double the time that I do with a blade. Shaving cream helps but not enough. Third and to me this is the deal breaker. After using this razor for about a week (I only shave every other day) I started developing hard red bumps on my face. These are not pimples, these were much harder more like cysts. I think this is probably a result of the cleaning solution. The cleaning solution is FLAMMABLE! It says that it contains ethanol and is an eye irritant. So, you are supposed to put your razor in the cleaning and charging station after use. It then rinses the razor with this solution. I am sure that after the razor dries, there must still me some residue left on the razor, then you are supposed to put this on your face. It just doesn't make sense to me.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have rather thick facial hair that causes most cartridge razors to become single-use, which is why I decided to try using a daily electric razor. Enter the Braun 7020. Out of the box, it had a charge. I figured I would be waiting a few hours before I could even use it, so this was a pleasant surprise. In addition to thick facial hair, I would consider my facial skin to be quite sensitive, so that was my other major worry about an electric razor. I was able to shave my face, which had about 2-3 days of growth at the time, in less than 10 minutes. While this wasn't as close of a shave as cartridge razors, it certainly was quite acceptable and far more convenient. Cleaning the razor seemed a bit too simple. I was expecting something far more complicated, but it was very much removing the head and shaking it a little. It was so simple, in fact, that I actually looked at the documentation to make sure I wasn't missing anything. The travel/storage case it comes in is also quite convenient to simply store with my travel bag. In the two trips I've taken, I have not used my cartridge razor a single time. Overall, I am very happy with the Braun shaver.

It does everything it says it will, it's relatively precise, easy to use, doesn't make a mess, I've used it six or seven times, now without having to recharge. I'd have given it 5 stars if I felt it could fully replace a wet shave. At this point I'm not ready to say it is better than that but it certainly is more convenient. Overall I would recommend this!
