I plugged it in the kitchen right next to my fruit bowl because it was always surrounded by those annoying fruit flies. The blue light doesn't bother me at all at night, and it honestly works like a charm. At first, you don't really notice how many are caught, but when you look at the back of the cartridge, you realize just how many bugs it actually traps. This is a large size and does take up a bit of room on the outlet as you can see, but it still allows me to use the bottom plug as well as the switch. Setup was extremely easy. All you had to do was take off the plastic from the sticky side and plug it in! Everything was already put together, so there wasn't any trouble there. It is only light and doesn't make any noise, no humming or whirring. We tend to have fruit flies in the summer with home grown produce on our counter so this is going to be a good deterrent!
