It doesn't release chemicals, and it still manages to catch all the little gnats that congregate every summer. I plug it in. I leave it alone and eventually I throw away the dead bugs. Fantastic.

It gives off a soothing blue light that attracts the bugs to it. The bugs then get stuck in the very sticky trap without me having to look at them. It plugs into any standard outlet and is attractive on the wall while not using much in the way of power. It appears well made and durable.

What I like is that it is refillable when the old one is done you unplug pull it out and drop the new one in and plug back in very easy maintenance & safe
