There was 1 insect still alive. The light attracts them and the sticky pad traps them. Eventually they die. The refills are a little.pricy but if you have any insect problem it does work.

The size and durability are great for a space like the living room by the front door, which is where I have mine. I love that it’s white so it blends in with my walls. It’s very sleek! I’ve had it plugged in for 2-3 weeks now. It’s caught a good amount of bugs, I haven’t had to change the filter on it yet. I’ve been enjoying it so much that I bought a compact one for my kitchen to place next to my fruit bowl. After a while of having this, I noticed my cats would stay in front of the door which usually means there’s a bug that came in when we did.. it started happening almost every night. I finally caught on that the bugs see the lights and my cats see the bugs. Now they have nightly entertainment!!

I just peel off the cartridge liner and plug it into the wall. I can put it anywhere in the house. The kitchen is where I need another one because of the fruit.
