Purchased mattress in 2020 and still too firm. The mattress I tried in the store was not this firm despite being the same model. I have tried everything, including a mattress topper which just made it too hot. After a couple years now, I still can't sleep well, waking up with back, hip, and should pain that I only have after sleeping in the bed. Unless you like a very firm bed, don't bother. I have the soft model and it has never been soft.

Never had such extreme pain in shoulders and hip with tingling in hands , waking up early morning hours such as 12:00 1:00am etc. Not sleeping waiting for our 30 days so we can exchange or get rid of it. Now we are waiting for soft pro adapt praying it will relief pain also purchase adjustable frame. Furniture store where we purchase does not refund how wonderful, so we had to go with another temper pedic. needless to say the expense is out of this world. Living on social security now this will hit us hard . well suck it up butter cup and learn from this experience never again! I google this problem was surprise to find I'm not alone with this discomfort . Just weird. My husband has no problem. I've started sleeping on our old mattress in another room which is strange after 43 years of marriage, and to my surprise the pain has eased up and back to normaL after four days. so I thought I give the bed another try and slept on husband side of bed , well the pain woke me up again and tingling in hands. Keep fingers cross peps that soft pro adapt will solve this problem should be here in another week they say.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] First couple days it was VERY FIRM, however, after talking to the online support, I was assured after a few more days to weeks the bed would soften up to meet my standards of comfort. They were soooooo right!!! I LOVE this bed! I don't wake up in horrible pain anymore and I bought the zero gravity bed frame, which is a game changer I will tell you!!! The pair of them had transformed the way I think about going to sleep and that is a real blessing!! The biggest hurdle is getting through the few days of discomfort while your brand new beds cells start to soften and conform to your body. This is amazing!

When I first bought this mattress I didn't know what to think as I have never owned or slept on a Tempur-Pedic mattress before. Our previous mattress was over 11 years old and was an excellent mattress (Lady Americana). We loved it but of course at 11 years it wasn't as comfortable as before. My wife and I went to a local retailer and tested out multiple Temper-Pedic mattresses and decided on the Pro Adapt Hybrid (Queen) as I am 6'2 and 225 lbs. We also purchased an adjustable ERGO base. This has the Zero G function that relives a lot fo pressure from my wife's back as she has back pain due to an accident and major surgery. The first 3-4 months was not as comfortable as I thought it would be. The reason seems to be that the mattress was actually correcting my sleeping position and this caused my lower back to hurt for about 2-3 months intermittently. After that period I sleep like the dead on our mattress, LOL. I will say that sleeping on my back is a little tricky and this mattress doesn't quite support my lower back as much as my old mattress, but I fall asleep on my side and that does the trick. If you are looking for a mattress to sleep on your back and you are over 200lbs, I would recommend the Lux Adapt (Firm), if you can afford it. Its pretty pricey. I have only had the mattress for just under a year so this review is based on that time frame. So far, so good. I would like to give it a few more years and see how well it holds up. Overall it seems like a good purchase and if you can afford it, this mattress seems like a solid purchase, but only time will tell.

So far using the adjustable bed in the zero gravity position has help me sleep more comfortable. I'm still not sure about the firmness. It seems to be extra firm. I'm wishing I had gotten a softer mattress. Overall, this mattress is much more comfortable than the previous I own. The thing I don't like about it is the smell. It still has this chemical smell even after 30 days.

When Tempur-Pedic says Firm, they really do mean Firm. It may take a few nights of sleep, to get use it. One thing that really made a difference, we purchased the Tempur-Pedic sheets. Cool and comfortable.

My husband and I both prefer a soft mattress and we were excited to give this one a shot. It did not disappoint! While it seemed fairly firm at first, it relaxed over a couple of days to become super cozy while still being supportive. (It also took a couple of days to lose the factory scent, but it was never too bad and I just left the window open the first day.) When you lie down, your body slowly sinks into the foam top until you are perfectly supported. I sleep on my stomach and my husband sleeps on his back and we are both feeling fresh in the mornings. We have been sleeping on this mattress for a couple of weeks and we are pretty happy. My one gripe is that the top is very smooth and my sheets will occasionally slip right off over the corners, but it's not an issue I would deduct any stars for. Fresh sheets feel nice and crisp over the smooth surface. It's very warm out but the mattress seems to stay fairly cool. If you like a soft bed, give this one a shot!

I wanted a firm mattress and it is very firm, but still conforms to my body and ended up being the perfect combination of support and conformity for me. I'm waking up without back pain for the first time in a long time, so overall I'm extremely happy with my purchase!

But given a few weeks it loosened up and has stayed comfortable since. My only complaint is sometimes I do get hot, but I sleep hot normally and it is in the hot summer months now. I should've probably bought the cooling pro adapt mattress but just couldn't move myself to spend the extra grand on that price tag. But I'm happy enough with my mattress so I'm set.

Like sleeping on "HOT CONCRETE".My entire body is in pain this morning. HOT too. "OMG" and I purchased the soft one. Soft means soft to me. Soft must mean "CONCRETE" to tempurpedic. Cool means cool to me. Cool obviously means "FIRE HOT" to tempurpedic. STUCK WITH THIS EXTREMELY OVER PRICED SLAB OF "HOT CONCRETE " !!!!!!!!!! I would not give it one star but that option isn't provided. This purchase has sickened me!!!!
