Luckily, Lifetime makes a great one so it was a no-brainer which brand we wanted. We chose the Cadet because it supports a higher weight limit which means we'll be holding on to it a lot longer. We took it up to the lake and the kids LOVED it. My 6 year-old was able to climb on the back with ease. For dad, the built in molded carrying handles made it a breeze for me to carry both from the car. Whether you're buying your first or third kayak, I definitely recommend the Cadet. Once you see and feel the quality of this product, you'll know why we're a Lifetime family.

This kayak is so fun! My six year old can zip around on it with ease. It’s a great starter kayak for the first timer. It says for ages 5 and up but I think even a coordinated 4 year old could start out on it. It’s light weight and easy to carry. The included paddle is also the perfect size for young ones. It max weight is 100 pounds so even my 9 year old could paddle around on it (but he prefers paddle boards now). I highly recommend for little water loving kids!

My child could not wait to use it. This is a perfect first-timer kayak to help develop skills and enjoy the water. The only downside is lack of handles to pull-up on when they inevitably go in the water, however my child was able to get back in with relative ease. Overall this was a great day on the water, full of smiles. You can't go wrong with the Lifetime Cadet Youth Kayak.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This kayak is great for either experienced or beginners to use. As soon as my grandson saw this he could not believe that it was for him! Now he can go with the family in his own kayak! I like that this is light enough to take to the beach, lakes and more. It's easy for him to get in and out and even though he's only 9 he can maneuver very well. The price is affordable and even the paddle was included. So as soon you get the kayak you're ready to go!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We have several kayaks and a canoe. This Lifetime Cadet kayak is great for smaller kids. It's very light which makes carrying it and loading a breeze. The carry handle is a very helpful addition for myself for carrying it or my 4 and 8 year old to drag it into the water. It maneuvers easily in the water even for a beginner or younger child. My 8 year old absolutely loves it and had a blast racing me on our 2 seater Lifetime Envoy kayak. Nice and stable in the water. My 4 year old was able to maneuver it decently enough for a kid who has just started learning how to paddle. Definitely recommend for any younger kid no matter their skill level.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This kayak is perfect for kids. We got our's kayak on Saturday and the kids could not wait to use it. My daughter who is 10 has never ridden in one alone and was nervous at first but picked it up real quick. She would fall off it on purpose and climb right back on with no problems. The only thing she wanted was some handles towards that back so climbing on was a little easier but that never held her back from getting back on. She had a smile on her face non-stop. Great product.

We are a Lifetime kayak family and I was super excited to get the Cadet for our 6 year old. This kayak is perfect for younger kids. It’s super light and easy to maneuver. He felt proud that he could keep up with his older brother. Definitely a great addition to our family.
