But travel further from home and you loose connection. In order to have a connection you must purchase the nest app for a monthly fee.

I love the features it includes like being able to see who's at my door even when I'm not home, no messy wires hanging, it alerts my phones for packages and guests, I can even talk or listen on the device, and best but not least I can get a live 24:hr view even seeing what's going on in the dark! The install was super easy! Would highly recommend!

Battery lasts quite awhile. The doorbell works very well and the video quality is quite impressive. I would definitely recommend!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] At my first home after living apartment-to-apartment for years I thought it would be best to catch up to today's home automation with a doorbell choosing between Ring and Nest. After plenty of research, I decided to go with the Nest and it's been one of the better decisions we've made so far. Easy to install, the battery has been going nonstop for weeks now without showing signs of stopping - and even when it drains it is incredibly easy to replace. We live in a pretty populated area and after just a short while was able to capture any events close enough to the door to get our attention instead of every car or person passing by. Would highly recommend!

However the apartment was never set up with a doorbell or the needed low voltage power for most security doorbells. I discovered the new Google/Nest doorbell was rechargeable and didn't need any wiring, problem solved. The installation and setup were easy and it connects to her phone and Goggle home device. She is now able to monitor whomever comes to her door whether she is home or away. As her dad it gives me a little peace of mind and was a quick and easy solution. In my installation the product is not really exposed to the outdoor elements directly but it seems to be high quality and would have no problem standing up to the elements.

Too many of my neighbors have had packages stolen from their porches the last few months. I work from home so I am usually around to grab my packages immediately, but that's starting to change with things opening back up. Having a video doorbell like this provides the extra layer of security and piece of mind I was looking for so I'm not afraid to pop out for a meal and/or to run an errand.
