[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received the nest doorbell ( battery) to review and it did not disappoint, easy to install no wires to figure out, I love that I can pair with my phone and know who's at my door even when I'm not home, I can go on about this neat product but you should try it, I highly recommend you won't regret!!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Google Nest "Battery" doorbell is a good product. It does give you the option to be a wired or battery powered bell. I hooked mine up wired. If you go the battery route, you will need either a google smart display of a wireless bell. When hooking up wired to your existing bell, it utilizes your current bell. Video quality is really good. The motion responsiveness is good as well. Has a pretty cool auto reply feature. When someone rings your bell, you get an alert on your phone which allows you to reply back with 1 of 3 message. As this camera also allows for 2 way communication, the message gets heard by the person at the door. You can also have a conversation with the person. This is pretty cool. It very sturdy and built solid. My one complaint is that it's not supported on Echo devices, which is not good for me as all my devices are Echo. So, If you have a google smart home, this doorbell is an excellent choice.

The notification and response time is very quick and I particularly like the ability to identify objects as well as facial recognition. What this doorbell camera lacks, though, is a more robust installation and use guide. While it does well on the basic nuts and bolts of installation, it lacks in explaining functionality. For example: In the process of installation, I didn't fully mount the unit because I wanted to test if it activated my wired doorbell first. It did not. Turns out, the unit needs to be mounted to it's metal backing plate before it will create a closed contact for the doorbell chime (possible internal magnetic switch). This caused a bit of frustration on my end. Additionally, there appears to be very little in the way of app user instructions. A more thoughtful and intuitive set of user instructions would go a long way. The only other drawback I see is- because the doorbell needs to have the metal backing plate to function. This creates a gap between the wall and the doorbell, and is exacerbated if you use the angle wedge for mounting. It doesn't really provide for a clean, aesthetically pleasing installation.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got the Nest Doorbell and at first felt a little intimidated. Installing it looked to be a little beyond my expertise. But, after reading all the instructions it turned out to be very easy. I used my existing chimes and it all went good. I now have a doirbell that let's me see averything going on at my front door. I go away almost every weekend and now know who is there when I am not. I also know who is at the front door before I answer it. This is a great security measure that everyone should get.

Simple video instructions you don't have to be terribly tech smart also found a number of sites on YouTube. I hardwired connected mine, so I not only see through the camera, but my home chimes go off when somebody rings. I recommend using the “wedge”mounting plate, it seems to provide a better angle of the stairs and walkway. It would be nice to have more video time…. I think they give you 3 hours without a subscription.

After reading over the installation instructions the install and setup was a breeze! The hardest part of the whole thing was trying to decide the exact angle and height to mount it. Once installed connection and setup to my network was a breeze. The software options and personalization options was easy to change and understand without any problems. The actual videos and photos are really nice and clear even at night. The design and overall look of the unit itself lacks nothing and looks really nice and stylish allowing it to blend in nicely with any doorway. I highly recommend this to anyone looking for a great video Doorbell.

i really love it. i live in an apartment and it was easily installed. great video even at night. living downstairs and in the front of the building everyone passes my door. and i see some of my neighbors are really active. so i don't think the battery will last 2 months maybe 2 weeks. it identifies faces and you can talk through it to visitors signed up for the service too. i want the video

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Google Nest battery doorbell has helped give us peace of mind. The Best doorbell was easy to install. My husband actually installed it, I watched. The notifications come quickly to my phone The view, the angle is wide. I like that I can see most of the front yard. The battery seems to have a very long life, which is great. The design is sleek, and not too large. I was not worried about the look, just the ease of use. I am working on using the fact recognization feature. We like being able to use the Nest doorbell, and not have a monthly subscription.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Nest Doorbell is small but packs a mighty punch with all of its features. Right out the pack the instructions are very clear. It only took 3 hours for the initial charge and I haven't needed to charge it again! The instillation did take about an hour as the app and syncing was a bit confusing. After I got over that hurdle things went very smoothly. The best feature of this doorbell is it gives you a few hours of free recording without needing any subscription plan. The video clarity is perfect and the night mode is just as clear as daytime. The doorbell is able to sense the difference between an animal or a person and that avoids notifications for every little movement. From my doorway the camera does not have that great of a width of view because I have a large porch. This camera would be better suited for an apartment or a house with a narrow entryway. The camera takes videos vertically so I am able to see any person at my door from head to toe. The response time from the doorbell to the app is really quick and since using the doorbell I have not missed a visitor or a package coming to my home.

Time will tell how long the battery will last considering a heavy amount of foot traffic in front of my house, but so far not an issue. Would have been 5 stars if the recording subscription was less expensive.
