The camera quality is very clear and crisp and allows you to see not only who's at your door, but also animals that come around. The battery lasts around 4 weeks before it needs to be charged and the app tells you the battery percentage. Since it is battery powered we installed this in front of our garage so we can see when people walk down our driveway.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was really excited to be getting this Nest Doorbell, but a little curious as to how hard it would be to set up. Turns out, it was a piece of cake to set up! The quick start guide walks you easily through the set up process, and it all went just as it should. It probably took 10 minutes at most. That doesn't include mounting, just setting the camera up for use, and connecting to my existing Google Home network. During set up, the camera activates so you can see the picture and choose the best location for mounting. (After I did that, I came back in and captured a screenshot of my living room so you can see the wide range and quality of the camera.) The camera has a vertical view, a 3:4 ratio, so you can see people at your door from head to toe, as well as packages on your porch. I figured that pretty much anywhere I mount it near my front door is going to work. It's also got HDR and night vision. I haven't mounted it yet, because it arrived when we were having a huge snowstorm, and I just haven't gotten out to do it. But that looks super easy, too. There's a mounting bracket that screws on to your wall, and the camera easily attaches to that. There are no wires, which is awesome. It does come with a small wire connector, which looks like you can use to connect it, if you are replacing an existing doorbell. Otherwise, it runs on battery power and connects through wifi. Reading more about it on the website, it looks like your battery can operate up to 7 months without recharging, if you have all of your settings set to conserve power, and little activity. It comes with a usb-c cable for charging. The port is on the back, so you'd simply remove it from the mount and take indoors to plug in and charge it. It's got lots of features, which you can read about on the website. I was able to easily add it to my existing Google Home network. No problems at all. And, the thing is beautiful and classy looking! It's got a big doorbell button, but is sleek and minimalistic in style. And when you hold it in your hand, it feels heavy, and feels like your holding a great quality item. I love it and would definitely recommend it to others!

I had only one question and I called Nest. My call was picked up in about a minute and I was up and running in only two minutes more. Support has been POSITIVELY GREAT whether via phone or email. They put their customers first! The video quality is amazing whether full color or if in a dark area, the use of very clear infrared. Excellent video quality with an easy way to search for video as well as it being easy to send video to law enforcement or anyone else. The video is stored in their NestHub and connects through wi-fi. No subscription needed for 3 hour window. The ability to respond realtime via two-way audio is also a real plus! The ability to set detection zones is ingenious and operates PERFECTLY. We have a lot of cars zooming by here, but there has NOT been any car detection, just people. I heartily recommend this security doorbell to anyone looking for something that really works and is backed by a support organization that is second to none!

The set up was a breeze for me, and I would consider myself to have a mild mechanical ability. The picture itself is awesome. I love the ability to interact if needed, leave a message if needed. I also love that it recognizes people, so I can know when my kids get home. For an added feeling of security, it records the people that approach my door, so I feel more safe. This is just another add on to make my life easier and 'smarter".

The video quality is great and it has a good field of view. I have used some other doorbells in the past and this one seems to be just as good or better than some of the comparable ones. The only issue I have is that it is a google product and I am not big on their privacy policy. Since this is on the outside of the house, I am not as concerned.

This is a battery powered-rechargeable doorbell, the length of the battery will depend on your particular circumstances and will vary. Having other google devices on my network it paired well and was easy to set-up and manage. The video is very clear and there is a nice distance you are able to view with the device. There is a free version and a paid version. The free version gives you three free hours of cloud storage of video feed and doesn't require a subscription. The paid version offers 30 or 60 days of video storage. There are also other features available in the paid subscription such as facial recognition and other safety features. I did like that the doorbell itself is capable of holding one hour of video feed in the case of internet or power failure, and once those have been restored they will upload to your cloud. I really like that I am able to see who is at the door before answering and even if I am not home. I am also able to see when packages are delivered and that is a big help. Overall I am very pleased with the google nest doorbell.

It sends you notifications to your phone when someone is at the door or a package has been delivered. If even has an option to listen for broken glass or a smoke alarm. The picture is crisp and is very clear. It's easy to take down and charge as well.
