Nice sweet whisky, easy for beginners to enjoy

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The flavoring in this 14 year is quite interesting. It is not smokey at all to me. I do taste maple and some sort of deeper fruit flavor. This was a great pairing with some bbq ribs. The price point is up there with similar 14 years, I would buy this again. Packaging is adequate for the price point and intended events this would be appropriate for.

★★★☆☆ - Decent but Not Outstanding

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had high expectations for The Glenlivet 14 Year Old, especially given its reputation and the fact that it’s finished in Cognac casks, which is a bit different from their usual lineup. While it has some good qualities, I wouldn’t say it completely lived up to the hype. On the nose, it’s quite pleasant—fruity and slightly floral, with notes of ripe plums, honey, and a hint of spice. There’s a subtle influence from the Cognac cask, adding a bit of richness, but it doesn’t come through as strongly as I expected. The aroma is inviting, but not particularly complex or deep. The palate is smooth, as you’d expect from Glenlivet, with flavors of dried fruit, vanilla, caramel, and a little oak. There’s a bit of that Cognac warmth in the background, but again, it’s more subtle than I was hoping for. The mid-palate feels slightly thin, lacking the depth or richness I’ve enjoyed in other aged single malts. While it’s easy to drink and well-balanced, it doesn’t have that “wow” factor that would make it stand out. The finish is medium-length, with lingering notes of sweet fruit, light spice, and a touch of oak. It’s enjoyable, but nothing particularly memorable. Overall, Glenlivet 14 Year is a decent whisky, but for the price, I expected more complexity and character. It’s smooth, approachable, and easy to sip, making it a good option for those who enjoy a milder, fruit-forward Scotch. However, if you’re looking for something truly rich and layered, there are better options in the same price range. I’d say it’s worth trying, but not necessarily a must-buy.

Suitable sipper for a daily glass

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I like this quite a bit. While I enjoy all types of whiskey, scotch and cognac from around the world, this offers a solid fragrant and tasteful punch to the palate. It has hints of vanilla, and I seem to get a bit of smokiness in the back. I will only ever drink whiskeys straight, and this is a nice sipper.

Like a good friend that got even better

Had a deep three finger pour with just a splash to open it up. Immediately greeted with that familiar Speyside profile… but yet different. It is the nice traditional flavors I love about Glenlivet but with more layers. Deeper. Richer. More complex yet with an unexpected smoothness and easy drinkability. This is what basic single malts wish they could grow up to be.

Smooth and balanced throughout

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I recently tried Glenlivet 14 Single Malt Scotch Whiskey and found it to be exceptionally smooth and balanced. It stays true to the Glenlivet vintage, offering a rich, full-bodied experience with hints of fruit and a touch of oak. The whiskey comes in a nice purple box, adding an elegant touch to its presentation. This is a fantastic choice for both new whiskey enthusiasts and seasoned connoisseurs, offering great value for its price. Highly recommend for its superb craftsmanship and delightful finish.

Love the taste and how much is in the bottle

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My go-to has been the 14, which is smoother, has a great aroma, and leaves an after taste, which compliments my sitting on a porch and watching the sunset. The price for the 14 is perfect for the amount that is in the bottle.
