Spicy but sweet

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] After I opened the bottle i could smell the whiskey. It sips nicely with a smooth rich flavor. The whiskey leaves a bit of heat at the back if your throat but goes down smoothly. It went well with some salted nuts to balance out the sweetness.

Smooth flavor

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I tried contacting support a few times but no one had an answer for me. It was cheaper to buy this in store , even after the discount, taxes and shipping. So I purchased this at my local liquor store. This whisky has a smooth taste. I cannot handle straight whisky so I always mix my liquor. It smelled great and I liked the bottle. I am a brandy drinker and this had some of the same notes as the brandy I drink. This was very easy to drink by itself but even more with a mixer. I can see myself buying this brand again if I want to impress my guests but for the price I will stick with my brandy.

★★★☆☆ - Decent but Not Outstanding

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had high expectations for The Glenlivet 14 Year Old, especially given its reputation and the fact that it’s finished in Cognac casks, which is a bit different from their usual lineup. While it has some good qualities, I wouldn’t say it completely lived up to the hype. On the nose, it’s quite pleasant—fruity and slightly floral, with notes of ripe plums, honey, and a hint of spice. There’s a subtle influence from the Cognac cask, adding a bit of richness, but it doesn’t come through as strongly as I expected. The aroma is inviting, but not particularly complex or deep. The palate is smooth, as you’d expect from Glenlivet, with flavors of dried fruit, vanilla, caramel, and a little oak. There’s a bit of that Cognac warmth in the background, but again, it’s more subtle than I was hoping for. The mid-palate feels slightly thin, lacking the depth or richness I’ve enjoyed in other aged single malts. While it’s easy to drink and well-balanced, it doesn’t have that “wow” factor that would make it stand out. The finish is medium-length, with lingering notes of sweet fruit, light spice, and a touch of oak. It’s enjoyable, but nothing particularly memorable. Overall, Glenlivet 14 Year is a decent whisky, but for the price, I expected more complexity and character. It’s smooth, approachable, and easy to sip, making it a good option for those who enjoy a milder, fruit-forward Scotch. However, if you’re looking for something truly rich and layered, there are better options in the same price range. I’d say it’s worth trying, but not necessarily a must-buy.

A Delightful Dram in a Drowsy Setting

We bought this wonderful 14 year old last year and just opened it this week. I poured a wee dram in a Glenlivet glass made for nosing. Very pleasant on the nose mellowed by sherry and cognac barrels. The honey on the tongue mellows quickly on the sides of the tongue and finishes softly. It is not a very long finish but leaves one ready to repeat the process. This is a highly recommended single malt.

The khakis of single malts

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Glenlivet 14 Year Old is like the khaki pants of single malts - reliable, familiar, and gets the job done. Is it exciting? Not exactly. But for a chill night sipping on the couch, it's a solid choice. Taste/Smell: Honey, apples, and a hint of vanilla hit you first, with a touch of orange peel and maybe some cinnamon for a little somethin' somethin'. Sipping: Smooth and easy, like a stream on a calm day. The sweetness from the nose carries over, with honey and apples leading the charge. There's a little peppery spice on the tongue, but it's more of a suggestion than a punch in the face. The finish isn't super long, but it leaves a pleasant oaky aftertaste. Overall: This is great for a beginner. Easy to drink, and it's got a nice honeyed sweetness.

Fantastic from opening the bottle to touching your

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Glenlivet impressed from the start with its elegant, classic packaging that reflects its heritage and premium positioning. On the nose, it offers a clean, floral aroma with hints of citrus, honey, and soft oak. The flavor profile is smooth and approachable, featuring notes of vanilla, ripe orchard fruits, and a gentle spice that finishes cleanly. It’s highly versatile whiskey - great meat, on the rocks, or even in a high-end cocktail. Given its quality and consistency, Glenlivet delivers strong value for money, especially for those seeking a refined but accessible single malt experience.
