Hands down, these are the best tires on the market for passenger vehicles. I've had these tires on 3 different vehicles now. 2 pickups and an SUV. Excellent traction, very smooth ride, and great durability. Provides confidence when on snow, ice, water or other slippery surfaces. Until one of these fails me prematurely, I will never put a different tire on any of my vehicles.

Michelin customer since early 1980's. Use Michelin tires on all my vehicles,including motorcycle. Could always make a purchase being confident in the quality of the tires. July 6,2017 purchased new Defender LTX M/S to replace the LTX AT tires that had 55000 miles on them. The AT tires performed excellently. Change to Defender since I only drive on road. Have driven just over 500 miles on new tires and can't believe these are Michelin tires. Road noise is terrible,smoothness of ride ridiculously poor. Old tires at 55000 out performed these. 2 Hr.Highway ride with wife and she commented on the poor ride. Would not recommend these tires.

The Michelin Defenders 265 50r 20 tires on my 2014 jeep grand cherokee make a lot of noise. I am really disappointed with that part of the tire. I have been using Michelin tires on my vehicles for over 20 years and will continue to do so. Help me out Michelin what is going on with the noisy ti

I love Michelin tires and have always been pleased with them. I purchased these and traded them for a different Michelin because they made a lot of noise when I was driving on the highway. It may have been a defective tire in the mix, it was hard to tell. The service department traded them out for me. The tires did brake well and handled well in the rain.

My second set of Michelin LTX's. Michelin tires ride nice and quiet. They are round. Truck owners and 4x4 owners will have to use less weights to balance over sized tires because the quality control at Michelin does a better job of making sure the tires are round and balanced better right from the factory. Other tire manufacturers don't come close ! Thank you for making a quality product that I can easily expect to get 60k miles on, just like the set before this.

Could be Michelin's best tire. OEM on parents '03 GMC Envoy. I normally am not a fan of OEM tires, but these were exceptional. When replacement time came, local tire shop (and Michelin experts) recommended that these tires were still the best option. Just replaced those, as my parents don't drive nearly as much in their advanced age and the tires were starting to show signs of dry rot, which I've read is normal with Michelin's high mileage tires as they just don't wear out! These newest ones are probably the best Michelin tires, and I speak from experience. Another vehicle was supplied OEM with Primacy Tours, which were trash, and I replaced with the Defender2 and while better, aren't the equal of the Defender LTX! I have another vehicle with Pilot Sport All Season 4s which might be slightly better than the Defender LTX, but I have to knock them a point as I can't get 20k miles on them. But they ARE a high performance tire, and phenomenal! The Defender LTX is incredibly quiet, smooth, and resists hydroplaning and tramlining. Haven't bee drven in the snow, but considering how excellent they are in the other 3 seasons, I'm confident they'd perform just fine in the snow. Highly recommend!

In August 1994, I purchased a new 1994 Chevrolet C1500 Ext Cab truck with a set on Michelin XW4 tires In June 1997, I replaces orig XW4 w/ Michelin LTX MS / Odom reading of 50,571 In June 2002, I replaced w/ another set of Michelin LTX MS / Odom reading of 136,991 In October 2008, I replaced w/ another set of Michelin LTX MS / Odom reading of 243,813 In September 2012, I replaced w/ another set of Michelin LTX MS2 / Odom reading of 333,160 In December 2016, I replaced w/ a set of Michelin Defender LTX M/S / Odom reading of 409,784 I look forward to replacing next set around 500K. I've been waiting for some ice and snow to test these little babies! We got it now, here in Montana!! At first, I was concerned that these tires would be too noisy or reduce fuel economy too much on my 2013 RAV 4. Totally unfounded!! These seem to be great tires here in snow country! The rubber compound seems soft and tacky in the cold temps, and seems to grip the roadways better. Braking in snowy/icy conditions feels strong and I just plowed thru 9" fresh snow confidently They give me a soft, comfortable ride on the hiway. I am totally pleased with my purchase so far (about 1500 miles on them) and plan to put a set on our Honda CRV.

I've had the LTX AT 2, and the LTX M/S2 on my last two vehicles and just replaced a set of M/S2s with the new Defender LTX M/S. Very nice ride on my Tahoe, two things like like better over the M/S2, the tread is actually a little deeper which will help since I live in snow country in the winter. Also the ride seems better along with less road noise. Overall I think Michelin hit a home run with these. one Awesome tire and will recommend to anyone that asks!

I have been buying Michelin tires for 40 years now. Overall I have been quite satisfied with the wear patterns, reliability and service life of the tires. I have had Michelin tires on light trucks, vans, SUV's, sedans, sports cars and mid-range trucks. The Defender LTX M/S for my 2015 RAM 2500 4x4 Turbo diesel 3/4 ton truck only lasted 20 months and less than 30,000 miles. They were religiously rotated every 5,000 miles, not used for heavy loads or towing, little mountain road driving and no off road use. They all four (4) wore evenly but did not reach any where near the 50,000 service life expectancy.
