- 5 out of 5 stars review1/20/2025I am beyond happy with these tires. I purchased my SUV slightly used and the previous owner put Michelin CrossClimate 2 directional tires on right before he traded it in. I’ve had my vehicle for 2 years and am constantly impressed by them. Fantastic traction and performance in our Canadian winter even on ice. Plows through deep heavy snow like nobody’s business. And in the summer and rain they are good as well, also great performance on gravel roads (although I’m not sure of the wear if you were to do them regularly). When I trade in this one, I will be purchasing a set for my new ride, VERY good tires-BUY THEM!!!
FANTASTIC!!! THE ONLY TIRE I WANT ON MY SUV!
KolbyMOriginally posted onmichelinman.com - 1 out of 5 stars review7/21/2025I have owned my Michelin Climate 2 tires for several months, and I am very disappointed. First off they are a very noisy Tire. Doesn't matter what speed you are going or what kind of road you're on. Secondly, they have a high rolling resistance. My mileage has dropped by 3 miles per gallon. Lastly, they are a terrible ride. You feel every bump and road imperfection.
Noisy and uncomfortable ride
Jack MOriginally posted onmichelinman.com - 5 out of 5 stars review7/31/2025I have used these tires for years. Tire wear is slow, if you maintain proper air pressure. Traction is great in the snow, rain, cornering at speed and when riding on lined pavement (the tire design eliminates vehicle wobbling because of the cross design). I have the tires on our BMW, Mercedes and VW.
You can't go wrong with these.
Michaele9Originally posted onmichelinman.com - 5 out of 5 stars review11/20/2020Very very smooth and confident control on ice, snow and especially salty slush. Going on three years with this set on Sienna van. Stopping and starting on snow is perfect with my all wheel drive. High speed, 120 Kph is very smooth and quiet. This should be called Cross Climate Super Tire. Worth the higher price.
Superior Performance
DouglasOriginally posted onmichelinman.com - 5 out of 5 stars review6/4/2024These tires were on my Ford Fusion Energi which is a heavy plug in hybrid. These tires lasted about 77,000 miles of mixed highway and city use. I have an alignment issue so would recommend getting your car aligned at the same time and rotate frequently every 5k-8k miles. Today they sold themselves again. Took a nail and the tire still kept pressure. See the pictures! What a tank of a tire.
TANK of a tire
PlugInHybridOriginally posted onmichelinman.com - 2 out of 5 stars review3/14/2022I purchased these tires in September 2021. I did a lot of online research and the reviews were very positive on the traction of these tires in the rain and snow. Since I purchased them for my winter car (in Michigan) this was a huge determination in purchasing these tires. I have been very disappointed in the grip in the rain and snow. The tires easily spin when not even giving the vehicle (Dodge Journey) much gas. I paid a premium for these tires and would not purchase again based on performance.
Very disappointed in wet weather traction

The tread looks like it can be an aggressive pattern, but on the highway the car is as quiet as can be. Turning is responsive as well in dry conditions. Living around the Poconos, there are many twisty roads. I can't wait to see what these tires can do in the snow. That was a major reason for the purchase.
Quietest tire ever.
Greasemunky661Originally posted onmichelinman.com - 5 out of 5 stars review9/16/2022Had these tires on for a year now. They handle and ride fantastically !! Very smooth on the road and I just love the look of them. I find them to be a much better tire than my previous All Season Tires. These tires were purchased for my car. When my SUV is ready for new tires I will definitely be purchasing CrossClimate's.
My Most Recent New Tire Purchase
Peter MarkotjohnOriginally posted onmichelinman.com - 4 out of 5 stars review12/24/2024Bought the tires about 2 months ago. Hit all weather conditions since then. Tires are noisy... to the point I needed to regularly check my RPMs. Tires handle well on dry and very well on wet surfaces. They handle moderately well in snow. I found myself sliding a bit in slushy roads.
Good on wet and dry surfaces
RavenOriginally posted onmichelinman.com - 5 out of 5 stars review11/3/2021Bought these 6 months ago and they are excellent tires! Best riding tire so far on this vehicle and I replaced a set of Michelin Pilots that were on before! Better dry road handling and excellent wet road handling. Have not yet experienced winter as of yet!

PCSOriginally posted onmichelinman.com - 5 out of 5 stars review9/12/2021I bought these CC2 for my 2015 Mercedes Benz ML 250. Yes I am a diesel man because I love The Best or Nothing and thats why I have these CC2 on my Benz. installed on 6-23-21 Great handling and quite my MPG on my Diesel doesn't care I can get 37-42 all day long.
The Michelin Man does it again
Patrick JOriginally posted onmichelinman.comConsumer CarePatrick J, thanks for sharing the love! Mr Bib appreciates you! - 2 out of 5 stars review10/30/2023I bought a set of four of these tires for my 2017 VW Golf. The previous tires were OEM provided Continental ProTrack TX with about 40,000 miles on them. The old tread was getting low but still acceptable for Mass inspections. They also seemed to have developed a flat spot which was noticeable at low and high speeds. The Cross Climate 2 got very good review but in hindsight I don't recall seeing anything about highway mileage. On a trip I regularly make of about 70 miles with 60 highway, I would average 40-42 mpg. Now with these new Cross Climate 2 tires I only get 35-38 mpg. So after paying a top of the line tire I am going to continue to pay more every fill up through loss in gas mileage.
Hurts gas mileage

So-so on ice, as it slides in the direction of the crown of the road when coming to a stop on an icy intersection, but getting moving again, no issues. But... deep wet snow, it's too easy to break traction, since the long tread blocks, while it's good for grip when it's not snowing, makes it difficult for it to cut through the denser wet snow. Yes, my car was initially on Eco drive mode, but then had to switch to a off-road mode to get going again.
Doesn't live up to the hype the internet makes it to be

The positive: quiet ride and good grip. The negative: there is an absolutely annoying vibration that occurs at greater than 72 miles. Took it back to the Subaru dealership for rebalancing ( one week tires) . I was told those tires are expected to do that and this is why they don’t have it in stock ( they had to get them them from their regional warehouse). I have at least 3 trips of 2 hours plus a month on the Kansas turnpike (75 mph speed limit) and i am REALLY not looking forward for the next 3 years….
Vibrates at high speed

Replaced Vrdestein that had excellent traction but poor tread life. Compare to those, the Crossclimates roll smoother, are far quieter, and if it matters, are better looking. They handle road bumps well and felt very stable in heavy rain. No snow yet so I can't say if they live up to their reputation for great snow traction.
Great tires, no worries, but no snow yet
chipperxvOriginally posted onmichelinman.com - 5 out of 5 stars review11/22/2023I got these tires last Dec 2022 for the winter and rain in Olympic Peninsula area… we live in a very steep hill 600ft straight up from the main road, and we had the worst winter in history with some Seattle frozen roads on my work days… it worked perfect! I am glad I never skid or slide on those days. Even had this on a winter storm when we had a family emergency drive to British Columbia and with my dual motor Tesla model 3, we never had a problem. I am glad this was recommended by an agent during my tire rotation in 2021, I looked it up and changed last 2022.

JamesOriginally posted onmichelinman.com - 5 out of 5 stars review2/12/2022See a review here from Mike mentioning the 'B' wet traction rating on these tires...this is an old rating that really has nothing to do with how the tire will work on a modern car since the test measures how much grip the tire has when locked on wet pavement - all cars now have ABS so this test means nothing. If they make these in your size then rest assured these tires are going to give you the best all season traction available
Don't worry about the 'B' traction rating, these GRIP

While they look nice with that tread, they are so loud driving that it would seem we were in an off-road truck with those big truck tires. We have had them for a bit, but we felt the need to say something. I wouldn't recommend these tires at all.
Loud Road Noise

The stock OEM Falkens on the car are 255/50R20. When will Michelin have these CrossClimate2 tires in my size? I really prefer Michelins and only want to go to All Weather Tires for this car.
Great for Everyone but Me!
JimOriginally posted onmichelinman.com - 1 out of 5 stars review5/23/2025I have had the tires on for a day and every time I drive there is something about it that makes me nauseous. Secondly, I love my Tesla, because it has get up and go. It is fast on acceleration. With these tires, I notice a great loss in acceleration at stop lights and signs. Lastly, breaking seems a sluggish with these tires. I had the Michelin MXM tires before. Should have staid with them.
Loss of acceleration and breaking. Do Not Recommend.
