Deliciously made

I bought this cake for a birthday celebration at work. It was purchased the evening before the party. By noon the next day it was sliding or collapsing in some areas. It didn’t look very pretty. I was embarrassed with my choice of dessert for the party. The saving grace was the rave reviews on the flavor from everyone that tried the cake.

this cake has an appearance. excellent flavor and balanced sweetened. I wish it was more moistened. A note to take into consideration: the decoration of pecans and crushed chocolate contained hard pieces of what appeared to be crushed pecan shells. Chewing on a smooth texture and suddenly encountering stone-hard chunks is not a pleasant thing.

What happened ? My husband brought this cake home today . We’ve bought it many times from Sam’s club in the past. This one has strawberry jam in it in place of strawberries . Seriously wish he was paying attention . Wouldn’t have bought it without the strawberries . Sadly ruined it for us. Won’t but it again like this. Even the online picture shows real strawberries . Never again, sadly. Very disappointed.

Pretty on the outside

I bought the round tres leches cake at the Aiken store for my grandson’s birthday. I did not order the cake, just bought one from the fridge and it ended up being the most delicious cake ever. Moist, right amount of filling inside and a soft delicious white icing; no leftovers. It was simply delicious!

This cake was not made fresh the day I picked it up. I picked up the cake at 9:00 am for a birthday dinner. The cake looked exactly like the picture, it looked great. I put the cake in the refrigerator until after dinner. When it was time for dessert, the cake shrunk about two inches. The cake had no taste and was very soggy. This cake was definitely frozen.

Looked so beautiful, but my husband said it was nothing like a real tres leches. I thought he was harsh but since he grew up in Mexico, he would know ;). I agreed it wasn’t as “milky” as we would’ve wanted. Won’t buy again unless they change recipe…

When we got home with it and took the lid off, liquid ran out all around the container. The cake was soggy. We tried it but ended up tossing it in the trash. Very disappointed. We tried to figure out what the liquid was coming from. Wasted that much money and I had bout it for a party.

Top of cake slide off completely it needs a ring of butter cream frosting around it the the filling to hold top cake layer on. Looked so nice when bought by the time I got it home whole top layer had slid off. I would not buy again . And filling tasted like plain strawberry jam from a jar. Not fresh strawberries
