This cake was not made fresh the day I picked it up. I picked up the cake at 9:00 am for a birthday dinner. The cake looked exactly like the picture, it looked great. I put the cake in the refrigerator until after dinner. When it was time for dessert, the cake shrunk about two inches. The cake had no taste and was very soggy. This cake was definitely frozen.

My sister is a chef and I can tell you that this is an excellent tres leches. I have seen lot of restaurants try to make and do not come close in Middletown NY the lady who bakes these cakes and nailed it. It is refreshing that she has taken the time to make it right, delicious and beautiful my family had with strawberries or caramel inside. I just hope Sams allows it to on the menu the whole year.

I ordered this item for my friend's birthday, and its bad in so many ways. I have been ordering this same cake for the last 13/14 years, 4 or more time a year and never had such a bad experience. I called and complained about the quality (case#240221-009055) they said someone will follow up with this issue but no one did. Now whenever I call they hangup after a long wait(3times). Cake specs says its 5.6lbs cake I took video and pics of the cake and it weights less than 4.4 pounds. the cake is 2/3 of it usual height and this cake is supposed to have strawberry filling, there is none. it's a 10" round cake but it's actually not 10" and oval in shape. I have clear pictures of labels, cake height shape and size of this cake. When I took this cake to the party it's so embarrassing, Usually everyone praises the texture, taste and how beautiful the cake looks but this time it's skimpy and odd looking. such a disappointment. who ever made my cake shouldn't be working in the backing department.

What happened ? My husband brought this cake home today . We’ve bought it many times from Sam’s club in the past. This one has strawberry jam in it in place of strawberries . Seriously wish he was paying attention . Wouldn’t have bought it without the strawberries . Sadly ruined it for us. Won’t but it again like this. Even the online picture shows real strawberries . Never again, sadly. Very disappointed.

This was a delicious cake. However, it seemed that Sam’s Club reduced the size of the layers in half. They took an inch layer, cut in half to make a two layer one. The last time I got this cake was before the pandemic and I remember each layer had the proper “1 inch” size. In 2022, with all the inflation going on, the price of this cake remained the same, but the layer size got reduced in half.

My daughter asked me to pick up a cake for a birthday dinner she was hosting so I chose this one because it was so pretty. She brought me a piece the next day and I wasn't expecting much from a store bought day old cake but it was delicious!! It is one of the best things I had ever eaten. I have already requested if for my birthday.

this cake has an appearance. excellent flavor and balanced sweetened. I wish it was more moistened. A note to take into consideration: the decoration of pecans and crushed chocolate contained hard pieces of what appeared to be crushed pecan shells. Chewing on a smooth texture and suddenly encountering stone-hard chunks is not a pleasant thing.

I just got this cake today. This is the worst cake I've ever purchased from a bakery in a grocery/warehouse. This cake was still frozen and the package never mentioned that the cake was previously frozen. The nut pieces around the cake were rancid. I had a strawberry and it was okay, a little tart. Only the whipped cream that covered the cake was fresh.

Cake was prepared by 10 am and we served it at 7pm. Cake was drenched - bottom half turned mushy. Strawberries were great as was the top cake layer…use of cool whip type coating vs real cream was also disappointing. Won’t get this again but will continue to enjoy other delicious desserts from Sams.

This cake does not taste like any tres leches I have ever tasted before. I don’t know what it was soaked with, maybe a simple syrup of some kind. The cake was also dry on top and mushy on bottom. Honestly disappointing considering it’s one of the more expensive cakes they have. The other spring cake with strawberries is a family favorite and half the cost.
