We use this trash can in the kitchen. Opening the lid with the foot pedal is really handy in the kitchen since there are a lot of times when you have both hands full and you need to dump something into the can. The previous can we had utilized a flip lid that constantly had to be cleaned due to food falling on top of it.

Not really worth the price. The lid doesnt have a mechanism to stay open. The lid is also kind of heavy and either flings open or you have to step on pedal really slowly. Other complaint is the shape of trashcan makes it fill up faster than the average 13 gallon.
