Great trash can that my Weimaraner dog can’t open!

This trash can is fair but it's lacking durability on the foot portion to open the trash can. The first Tramontina trash can broke within 90 days and I received a replacment and this one lasted longer before it broke in the area of the foot portion to open the trash can. This trash can looks good but fair and lacking durability. Cheap parts

Trashcan itself is great. Had a touchless trash can that broke so replaced it with this one. Made spaghetti for dinner and threw away the leftover plain pasta noodles. Trashcan was practically empty aside from some wrappers and the noodles. No meat, veggies, etc. 6 hours later, the entire house smelled rotten from the trash. Absolutely rotten. And the trash can is inside the closed pantry but the whole house smelled from it. Never encountered this with any trashcan I’ve ever bought. Not sure if it’s because the lid closes so slowly or if it’s because the lid is not very tight. Bought some deodorizers and hoping that helps or might return. Can’t imagine throwing out the trash every time it barely has anything in it to avoid the horrible smells.

I bought this a little over 3 years ago when we moved into our new place... It's been working perfectly until my son got a little "over zealous" with stepping on the pedal a week ago and broke the mechanism on the bottom. One of the nicest pedal lid garbage cans we have ever had... Going to go get a new one tomorrow, 3 years of life for a trash can in the kitchen being used daily in our house is pretty fantastic.

The outside is stainless steel and some parts are metal but the rest is plastic. The problem is that the step to open the lid broke in the middle where the pivot metal rod is. We have to open the trash manually by lifting the corner of the lid by hand. They need to put a metal rod cross the step plate and it might have last longer.

Had really high hopes for a nice can / given the $..:( Arrived dented. Set an empty new clean shoe box on top for a day, surprisingly it scratched up the top. Just ridiculous :( This product is far from quality as the reviews state and not worth the $. I ordered the blue. Extremly disappointing.

Easy to dent

Nice cans easy to clean like the liners. Bought 2, something happened and lid doest work on it anymore. I stepped on the paddle heard a clink. Theres no way to get to the parts to fix. Other than that cans are decent price, look fine and keep our pets out.

10 years ago I Purchased a round foot operated trashcan from Sam’s. It was a nice trashcan. But it’s time was up. So I started searching for a new one. I always check wirecutter.com for their recommendations. They recommended one from simplehuman which, no doubt, is a wonderful trashcan, albeit quite expensive. So I thought, let me check out Sam’s. Am I ever glad I did! This trashcan from Tramontina is fantastic! First of all, I have learned that a square can is much better than around can - The trash bags are far easier to remove when full Plus you can get a whole lot more into them. The Cannes can be right up against a wall And still open properly. The lid closes slowly and quietly. And since you hardly ever have to touch the can, it stays clean! I would buy it again in an instant! To top it all off, the price is about half of the simplehuman can.
