I bought the 24" strand that is 8-8.5mm and they are beautiful. They look very much like the Akoya pearls that I saw while I was in Japan but these are less than half the price of the ones in Japan. If you call you can request a certificate of authenticity they will happily mail you one.

I purchased a necklace for my mother. I was a bit nervous about purchasing pearls on line but most of the jewelry stores were showing me pearls on their web site, so it was about the same thing. I called for the certificate and the gentleman guaranteed me if I did not like my pearls he would replace them. I was more than pleased! They were beautiful.

I ordered these pearls on Monday and received them on Wednesday! I had a question, and the customer service department was very responsive. The strand of pearls is lustrous -- I can really see myself in the surface of each one! I know they will be a valued family heirloom.

It said it was AAA Akoya pearl necklace so I expected quality. The color color was good but it had plenty of blemishes. I was really looking forward my 24 inch pearl necklace since I already have an 18 inch. Unfortunately I had to return it.

As mentioned in other comments, I requested an Akoya certificate of authenticity by calling 1-877-365-6333 and it arrived as promised with the necklace. The only tricky thing for me is the "fishhook" clasp which is a bit difficult to manipulate behind your neck until you get the hang of it. If you are looking for the ultimate heirloom, a gift for someone special or are commemorating a milestone event this Akoya Pearl Necklace will definitely be cherished. Other Clubs offering Akoya necklaces cost twice as much than SAM's Club and retail jewelers command 3x the price or more. Akoya pearls were part of Queen Elizabeth's usual attire and are worthy of your queen or princess.
